Its a welder that does what you want,
Its very easy to use, the wire that comes with it works well just be prepared for splatter, i am a complete novice so for me it was perfect I did the job I have a new tool to learn a skill with for a good price. The mask is flimsy and but worked, I will be getting a propper helmet tho.

It's good value for money and reliable. No electronics to go wrong.
I've had three previous MIG welders from Amazon... They all failed! Two different makes. Luckily they didn't last 30 days, so I got my money back. The original welders were all inverter welders and much more expensive than this welder. This welder is a good old fashion Mig welder with no electronics. I wanted something that would work when I needed it. It's the cheapest welder on Amazon UK (at time of writing). It took a bit of practice to get a weld I was happy with but it was worth the practice. I bought it to weld a Stainless steel project I'm doing. It works just fine. Not sure how it would be on car bodywork, as I haven't tried it.

Good little welder for small to medium diy purposes
The welder is a decent little bit of kit, didn't take too much practice to start laying some decent welds. Was working with some pretty thin steel too (1mm), payed for itself on its first job.I did ask before buying, if this welder was set up electrode positive (DCEP) or negative (DCEN), and was told I could change polarity by swapping the wires inside the cover. That was incorrect, this model is gassless only and does not have the connectors inside to swap. So given that fact and that the welds turn out pretty good for flux core, I assume it is set up DCEN as this is the setup recommend for gassless. This welder gets a thumbs up from me.

Completely Defective on Arrival But, Works Perfect;ly After repair
Unfortunately my husband didn’t check this item within the 30 days. When he did, he was just outside of the return window. This item is completely defective. I don’t know if this is typical of this product (or quality control) or if this was a previuos return that has been sent out again as a new product. In any case, I recommend that purchasers check this product as soon as it arrives.Updated: I have to change my review because my husband contacted Drapers about the defective welder that we purchased. They arranged collection, tested and repaired the welder. We got it back really quickly and it works perfectly.Excellent customer service that many other companies could learn something from!!! After seeing how well the company dealt with this problem, I would not hesitate to purchase this brand again.

Good for the price
Bought it to weld a patch into a car floor. It’s a bit high powered for .9mm steel into a 20 year old floor pan but if you take your time it manages ok with a few holes blown in. I used to restore cars in the past and I’ve had much pricier welders, but I didn’t want to drop £500 on a welder for a days work. Recommend it, it’s good for the money.

huge let down
i have been using welders for years, my last one packed up a few months ago and after some research decided that this one would be a good replacement, however having tried using it several times i cannot get good results, theres only two settings… wire speed has a dial which can be good but if your looking for a good result then look elsewhere! the mask is very flimsy and can even be considered dangerous as to not provide proper protection… overall i am extremely disappointed.

Excellent little welder
I wasn't sure what this would be like when I ordered it. I am extremely impressed. It's nice and light but packs a really good punch. It easily welded my plates on my chassis and sills and is very controllable. Brilliantly smooth wire feed too. If you are doing general car maintenance refurbishment work or want something for those hobby jobs, making gates or something like that, you won't go wrong with this. I wouldn't rely on the provided fold flat mask or tiny hammer and wire brush but they work too but I prefer my proper welding auto dimming mask as it keeps bothering hands free.

So Angry........
......with myself! Always fancied trying welding but finally decided to buy a welder as my home office chair broke. Buying a welder to fix it seemed cheaper than buying an expensive new chair. It takes practice, so don't expect to be an immediate expert. But an amateur like me fixed the chair, then fixed an old, broken, cast iron bench, and now I just keep looking for things to fix/make. No experience of other units, but this us solidly made, easy to use, and works fantastically. I said i was angry but only because I wish I'd bought one sooner now. One tip. Buy a mask. I bought welding goggles to start with, but 2 sessions in a row ended up with a sunburnt face.
