Conan Doyle Boxed Set (Collector's Library)

Much easier to deal with than the all-in-one editions. These would be perfect for long flights or train rides, or even commutes -- the ribbon place marker means you don't have to fumble with a separate bookmark.Will be getting another set for a gift -- once I get a set in good shape from Amazon, I'll start cycling returns back to them until I get an undamaged set for myself.I'll update the "stars" depending on how many attempts it takes to get two undamaged sets.

I love this book set. They are well constructed, travel friendly, and beautiful enough to display on your favorite book shelf. The books are smaller, but the print is about the size of a mass market paperback. Perfectly comfortable to read, and tucks nicely in your bag.

This is a wondrous collection of the Sherlock Holmes & John Watson stories. The physically books are fairly small and so is the print.

We really like this attractive set of books. I, however, didn't realize how small they were. It's a littlehard to read. It's decorative more than readable. Next time, I'll pay more attention to size.

This is a handsome little set. I use the word "little" literally. The books are 4'' x 6 1/2''. The whole set is only 5 1/2" wide by 6 3/4'' tall.They are well bound and will last for years.

This boxed set makes an attractive addition to any library. These are smaller sized hardcovers boxed in a cardboard container covered with padded fabric and illustrated papers. The books themselves are very well made with golden gilt edges, silk bookmarks sewn in, and cloth covered boards. All in all, this is a very nice set of surprisingly high quality.

Very nice collection and wonderful for travelling. Like the built-in bookmark. So, it's pretty elementary.

Great series. Bought this for my 12 year old and she loves reading them. Convenient to keep them altogether as well.

This is an excellent collection of Conan Doyle's "Sherlock Holmes" stories. It consists of six hardback volumes, all with dustjackets, housed in a sturdy cardboard outer-box. The box itself is attractively designed. The volumes contain not just the stories but also original artwork - that appeared in the newspapers and magazines upon initial publication of these writings.The set includes: 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes', 'The Case-book of Sherlock Holmes', 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' (with 'The Valley of Fear'), 'The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes', 'A Study in Scarlet' (with 'At the Sign of the Four'), and 'The Return of Sherlock Holmes' (together with 'His Last Bow').This amounts to some 2,400 pages of reading material. In addition, each volume has an Afterword by David Stuart Davies (former editor of Sherlock Magazine).This is a deluxe set of books - and presents the material in an attractive manner. The only point I'd stress is that each volume is quite tiny (and the print is rather small). Yet, if you're a Holmes fan, this collection will be a welcome addition to your book shelf!

If you like Sherlock Holmes then treat yourself to this. A beautiful set of Sherlock Holmes books. The books themselves are about palm sized and are contained in a lovely hardcover red box. Each book is hardback and has a lovely ribbon bookmark. All the stories are here. Both my husband and I have been reading these books. It is such a lovely set which I will dip into and treasure forever. I am so glad I purchased it.

The books are about palm size, much smaller than expected. The page quality not great, very thin and the writing very small. This is fine if you want a pocket sized book but not for a good reading experience.

Superb little set (the Sherlock Holmes complete works) within its own matching box. And although small (they are, it must be said, pocket-size volumes), the print size and quality are crystal clear. I certainly don't agree with a previous reviewer who felt the print size was "incredibly small". Maybe he or she is used to large-print editions?!All in all, a smashing little collection, and a great bargain too.

I got the books after I saw the BBC TV show, the books are so much better and this set was the cheapest I had seen ans also in a really nice box.
