SGL 12-Pack 4 inch Dimmable LED Recessed Lighting, 9W (65W Replacement), 3000K Warm Light, 750Lm, LED Downlight

I usually give higher stars in reviews and I really wanted to rate this higher, but I just can't. I purchased a 4 pack of these a year ago because they got good reviews and they were inexpensive. I put into 3 4" cans in my basement and they look great! Fast forward to now. A few months ago I bought 2 12 packs (24 lights total, 6 packs of 4). I opened up 1 pack and noticed that one of the lights had a cracked ring. That was 2 weeks ago. Tonight I went to install 8 lights (8 in one room, 11 in another). I found about 6 of the 24 lights had cracked rings or dented rim. Also, the design of the springs is not the best. The spring clips are screwed into plastic screw holes that are mounted to the room-facing rim. That is the weak point, so while putting these into 4" cans, about 5 lights' clips broke! So those are unusable. I had this idea to take the clips off and bend them so they don't put a lot of force on the plastic. Taking out the screw, the plastic holder was ALREADY CRACKING ! These things look great and I'll make due with the 8-light room. But the room where I need 11-12 lights, I'll probably spend 3x as much to get the name brand lights. It's very unfortunate, I think these lights look pretty good. I'll be attaching some pics to show the final install in the room, but also some of the damaged items. I even have a video showing me opening packages and having them damaged already. I don't want to tell people to run from these, but I really hope you have better luck than I did

The lights have a nice illumination but the spring is so strong and the light housing is so thin that I broke two of the steel clips off while trying to install. I have no idea where to contact the manufacturer. The email address provided is closed.
