Perfect Fit with 5.25 in Speakers
Fit right in the factory space perfectly. Factory screws worked to keep it tight. Used in front doors of a 2013 F-150.

Works as advertised - Sort of
I installed these in a 2003 F-250. These plates have nice mounting holes, and they are certainly sturdy, but I have one major complaint. Once you have the speaker screwed into the bracket, and go to put the bracket into the door, you might find that the screws holding the speaker into the bracket prevent the bracket mounting holes from lining up with the OEM holes in the door. I tried all different orientations, sliding the speaker around on the bracket, but it won't even come close. Its maybe 3/4" off. The screws prevent you from moving the bracket down low enough to get it lined up. I ended up having to cut notches into the door to make it fit. I wasn't really excited about doing that, but it did work.

Size not advertised correctly
This adapter is advertised as a 5.25, 6, 6.5 to 6x8 but comes as a 5.25 to 6x8. To make a 6.5 speaker fit you need to cut the plastic. This would not be too bad if the adapter was made like a stereo install kit, where the pieces are made to break off to fit a variety of sizes. But this adapter is one solid piece with no perforations or guiding lines or marks to make the resizing in any way easy. As another poster has said, if I wanted to do this much work to make an adapter fit I would have saved my money and made one myself. To sum up, don't buy this if you are expecting a 6 or 6.5 speaker to fit, it won't, it will work fine for a 5.25, and therefore gets 2 and not 1 star.

Great for 5 1/4 not 6 1/5
I understand these say they will adapt both 51/4" speakers and 61/2" speakers but these did not come close to fit my 6 1/2" JL C2-650's speakers. Their is also not enough room on the sides to shave some off and make it fit either so I'm going to have to fabricate my door panels a little bit. These will be perfect for someone doing 51/4's though.

Fits 2013 Mazda 3 Sport Front Doors
I bought a pair of these to use as adapters for installing 6 1/2 speakers in the front doors in my 2013 Mazda 3 sport. A particularly nice thing about these adapters is that you can position them in a way to avoid cutting any crash bar inside the front doors. If you have a 2011-2013 Mazda 3, you know what I am referring to. ;-)The general build quality is okay. A nice solution to installing 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 aftermarket speakers for a little over 10 bucks.

Only work with 5.25" speakers
They work as they should to adapt 6 x 8 speaker holes to use 5.25" speakers. They definitely won't work for any other size speakers.

Could be better
I bought these and a set from scosche, the fitment and built quality on the Metra adapter are inferior. Adapter are much thinner and fitment of the screw holes are not the best ended up with crooked speaker screws which would not align with the speaker holes on the door. Had to use some light force to fit it in and then re screw the speaker screws otherwise the speaker adapter wouldn’t sit flush on the door.In the end they do work but you should go with the scosche ones, they just work better.

Works.
As described. Could be a fender plastic so as not to flex as much.

Useless
As others have stated, did not fit 6.5" speakers. Only thing it was good for was a template to make my own out of abs

Fits my Ranger but barely fits my 5.25 speakers.
A little too big for my Exile 5.25" speakers. The flanges on the speakers were able to just reach far enough to attach to the slots, but it left a small gap between the speaker and the plastic all the way around. It doesn't even come with screws, but at least they did match up to the stock rear locations in my late model Ford Ranger single cab.
