Bridge Direct 2013 SDCC 2013 Exclusive Azog
Azog was not everyone's favorite character in An Unexpected Journey (AUJ), nor was he mine. In fact, upon my first viewing I didn't care much for him at all. After learning more about the last minute rush to digitally create the character just months/weeks before the theatrical release of the film, and what kind of role this character will play in the next two films, I started to like him a bit. Maybe, in point of fact, it wasn't Azog I disliked (his character design is pretty awesome) but just the way his character was handled in the film (I found him to be a bit 2 dimensional, even for an orc). This figure is even better than his character in the film.Bridge Direct limited this figure to just 2,600 production pieces and packaged it in the same style as SDCC 2012's Exclusive Invisible Bilbo Baggins figure. It's a very nice window box (this box is obviously bigger than Bilbo's as these figures are in scale, Azog is twice the size of Bilbo and so is his window box) with an orcish band that holds the box lid closed (and has a nice Velcro tab to ensure the lid stays closed) and in gold on the back is the numbering of which of the 2,600 figures produced that you got (I got number 1,676 out of 2,600). When the front flap is opened, the left flap has a picture of Azog in action figure form and a brief synopsis of his character. To the right of the front flap cover of the window box is the figure itself. Here Azog is holding King Thror's decapitated head (which is sculpted into his right hand and can be interchanged with a different hand which is sculpted open to hold weapons) after battling for control over the Mines of Moria. Azog comes with a mace, an orcish sword, hand holding King Thror's head, an alternate hand and his signature artificial hand. So quite a bit of cool little accessories all packed in a great window display box.Any fan of numbered, hard to find exclusive action figures, any fan of The Hobbit, and any fan of Bridge Direct really needs to get their hands on one of these while they can. I can't wait to see which figures Bridge Direct puts out for the next two Comic Cons. I know people complained about Azog, but this figure makes up for his somewhat flat character in the film, and I think after his bigger part in The Desolation of Smaug he may get more fans. FULLY APPROVED.

My favorite purchase!
I absolutely love this product! I got it for my 5 y.o. son's birthday and I need to buy another for myself! It's difficult to tell from the photo, but even the box is very nice, Azog looks great, and my son loves that he can play along the story by being able to change the arms and weapons. The arms are not easily removed, but I'm happy with this also, as it makes loss less likely. I wasn't expecting to be as happy with this as I am.

I loved the figure its 8 inches tall and comes with thralls severed head, prosthetic arm and fists that are interchangeable. One other thing I liked it came with a bunch of weapons. the articulation is limited like a lot of bridge directs figures from the hobbit movies, but in this case I don't care. I couldn't imagine a big hulking beast being very nimble. overall it's Azog rules!!!
