Heavyweight 180 gram pressing of the classic Depeche Mode album on single LP Review: Sublime synchronisation of synthpop - This DM album from 1982 is a sublime pairing of synths and pop. Written entirely by Martin Gore and released after Vince Clarke left the group, it really was a signpost to their greatness and rapid maturity as a musical force. All ten songs are strong but the standouts for me are Leave In Silence, My Secret Garden, See You, Satellite, The Sun & The Rainfall. This album is up there with Violator and Music For The Masses. How enjoyable it is to listen to an album where the songs complement each other. Pros: 1. All ten songs are brilliant with around 5 superlative tracks. 2. The vinyl sounds perfect with no snap, crackle, or pop. Cons: 1. Doesn't include download card (most albums don't so is this really a con? Perhaps the record companies in general conning the consumer. I like how The Cure always include download codes with the vinyl but this is the exception rather than the rule. Review: A broken frame- DM - Excellent album. Much faster delivery than expected, so kudos.

Buy it now..... infact buy all the Depeche Albums now.
I had never listened to the early DM albums until very recently. I had everything from Violator onwards. I went to see them at Birmingham in January and they were fantastic. It was after this I decided to have a listen to the early albums which for years I must admit passed of as throwaway pop....... how wrong was I they are as good as the later albums that I love so much. I can honestly say that in my humble opinion these guys have never made a bad record. Buy them all and the 180gm vinyl is great.

Good quality
No need for any review of the music itself, that's subjective. The album was delivered quickly and reasonably well packaged. The pressing is good, quiet in between tracks but some nice dynamics. One star deducted because it is a little tiny bit warped - not enough to affect it playing though.

The start of something special
The album that made me fall in love with Depeche Mode over 30 years ago. So good to hear it on this new heavyweight vinyl release. The artwork (courtesy of Brian Griffin's wonderful photography) is first class, colours much sharper than the original release that I have from '82. Clearly, this series of re-issues have been given the 5-star treatment that they deserve. I class this release and the two albums that followed it as the 'holy trinity' of Mode albums - a gritty, industrial soundtrack of early-mid 80's Britain.

HD Audio
Just technical facts for those who care about this sort of stuff: Like many of the Depeche Mode CD+DVD releases, the music tracks on the DVD are recorded in DTS 96/24 (5.1) and LPCM Stereo 24 bit 48KHz. They all sound brilliant. This particular release is that bit more special as the CD is actually a Hybrid SACD. Awesome :o)

Para comprobarlo basta hacer sonar "Leave in Silence", "My Secret Garden", "Monument", "Should Have Don't That" o "The Sun and the Rainfall".
