Absolutely outstanding!
The media could not be loaded. After having bad luck with the purchase of a FNIRSI HS-02B soldering iron (it arrived basically DOA and wouldn't even charge up), I started looking around for something else. I quickly came across this XCOOL soldering iron and decided to take a chance on it. Despite having limited reviews here on Amazon and having never heard of the brand, I figured I would give it a shot and worse case just return it along w/ the HS-02B that decided to brick itself during a firmware upgrade attempt. The XCOOL arrived in a few day and, "WOW OH WOW"... the moment I took the XCOOL out of the box, I knew we were on to something. In fact, when I opened the box and took it out and held it for the first time, I actually remember I said out loud, "Holly !@#$" - it was much than expected. The entire presentation was quick impressive. The box / packing was very high quality and the soldering iron and stand both are really really nicely made. It just screams quality when you look at it. The XCOOL uses the 210 style soldering iron tips, which is nice. One thing I really like about the XCOOL is that it's just straight forward, simple and down to business... turn it on, it heats up, set the temp - go. It just gets the job done without a lot of nonsense. Like seriously, I don't need an OLED display and a menu and firmware on my soldering iron; I just need it to get hot and melt solder. The XCOOL isn't overly complex or trying to impress anyone, it's just there to do its job without a lot of fuss - and I appreciate that.I used this iron to solder some caps onto a logic board and it did a fine job. Super fast heat up. It has a "sleep mode" when you put it back in the stand and then when you pick it up, it heats right back up and is ready to rock and roll within a couple seconds. Love this thing. Love it. If you need a bit more temp, just use the arrow keys and you are good to go.The soldering tips install readily with a very simple threaded retaining collar on the end. You know the tip is inserted 100% when you thread it down. Simple, done. The buttons on the until allow you to quickly adjust the temp as mentioned. it's just all so simple and easy to use. Nice job to whoever designed this unit, because it's an absolute pleasure to use.Never heard of XCOOL before, but I'm a fan. I would definitely recommend this soldering iron over the FNIRSI - not even a contest. 5 Stars all day long.

Awesome Soldering Tool!
I was looking for some soldering tools and came across this one. I'm pretty sure this is the only battery-powered soldering tool on the market, surprisingly. And it's not even that expensive at $69.99 for what you get.Simply put, this soldering iron does the job well. I previously had a cheap 60W soldering iron that supposedly went about to 450 C (845 F), but it did not seem like that at all. One soldering connection and it cooled down and had to take quite a bit to heat up again. This Xcool tool is great though. It heats up so fast and stays hot. The LCD display on it is a really neat addition and helps me know when it is at full operating temperature and fully charged. This kit comes with a soldering iron, iron holder, tip cleaner/tray, a charging cable, and 3 different tips. It comes with a very precise conical tip, an angled/curved conical tip, and a chisel tip, which is perfectly fine for my needs. The tip on these surprised me because of how thin and precise they are. I'm used to seeing the typical thicker-tipped ones and having a thinner tip is a nice-to-have for smaller PCB soldering and whatnot. And I'll also add here that you can use this plugged-in, so the battery is not going to hold you back if you are soldering for longer than the battery life lasts. I don't have a say in what the battery life is as I have not used this long enough for it to die on me.Overall, the build quality feels nice and premium, and it comes with everything you need at a good price. If you want a new soldering iron, let alone a battery-powered iron, this one is a pretty cool solution.

Really like the portability of this soldering iron
Perfect iron for me although I have no issue holding on to smaller objects. However, if you do have an issue handling smaller "utensils", this iron helps solve that with its "thicker" body. It's quick to heat to the desired temperature, and the light at the "nose end" of the body does a decent job of illuminating the work area.If operating at the highest temperature, I've noticed the iron will enter SLP (sleep) mode after just a few seconds which is identified in the manual. Just lower the temperature some, and it should stay "hot" a while longer before entering sleep mode. You'll know when sleep mode is invoked as the work light will turn off. To quickly reactivate the iron, I just tip the iron away and then tip it back to the work area. The stand is a nice addition and makes it easy to work with the tool since you have a place to store the iron while it is still hot.Very pleased with the tool so far.

Great iron, sleep mode is intrusive.
This soldering iron does really great for the work that I do. Hearts up quick and the tips it comes with seem to hold heat pretty well. Temp seems accurate, the unit is easy, and the display is intuitive. Only knock is the sleep mode activated way too easily. You have to constantly wiggle it around or it will begin cooking itself down. That can be a real pain for some jobs. There is no way to remove sleep mode or adjust its parameters.

Excellent for Auto ecm work!
Excellent solder iron. Charges quickly and warms up quickly. I have used in my automotive shop for a few months now with zero issues.Like the choice of interchangeable tips for the small critical component repair.Recommend it over my Matco handheld electric wireless and my Weller. The Weller gets hotter but the size of this handheld is perfect.

Great tool
Got as a gift for my son who’s in college for robotics engineering. He absolutely loves this & says so much better than his old one. He appreciates being able to dial in temperatures, and that it’s easily portable to school too.
