Average, but not outstanding,
I wish I could like this camera better, it have done away with some of the hiccups of previous models. Yet I cannot give it any higher rating since there's a number of shortcomings.Pros: It is a good and stable camera, that do take wonderful images in broad sunlight.Nice and easy when taking macro images.Cons: When zoomed in, it got chromatic aberration, and quite a lot of that. Especially annoying in images with high contrast, those images will not be usable for any purpose at all.(This said with the reservation that I don't know if its a lens element in my camera that is out of alignment, I have not seen anyone else mention this. But then again, this should show in other situations and it does not.)The CCD suffer from low sensitivity, even when the sun is still up. Lets say one hour from sunset, one have to crank up the ISO setting. And then the images loose most colour. So do not expect to be able to use the full 50* zoom, images come out ok up until 25* but only if the scene is very brightly light. If not you should be prepared to use a tripod and only for stills of unmoving objects, buildings etc.The autofocus get confused in some situations, and I had to hit the button several times to get it to focus correctly. This is not an unique problem, the solution is to focus on something else and then return to the object I want to take an image of.I have tried and worked with a few other cameras, and find that also the Fujifilm can be tweaked to work correctly with that workaround. But the photo moment might then be gone, such as for birds sitting a tree.So again, the S9900 is not an action camera in any way.So to sum this up, it's average for a bridge camera, there's several others that equally good, and a few that is better. The final choice might be on the price.

It's an excellent bridge camera
Not much to ass to previous reviews. It's an excellent bridge camera. For whatever reason, when I shoot videos, they won't play back properly if I transfer them to my Android phone- an LG V20

Excellent camera, cannot find much fault with it
Excellent camera, cannot find much fault with it. It is a perfect camera for point and shoot as well as being able to take photographs under a range of conditions.

Great camera
Great camera. The lens is brillianr. I use it for bird watching. Only 4 stars due to the use of AA batteries which is a bit annoying.
