Great toy with added challenge
This is currently my green cheek conure's favorite foraging toy. Before receiving it, I was worried it might be too big or difficult for him, but that is not the case. It came a bit different than pictured, but I prefer the differences: mine is clear so he can see when a treat is inside, and it has a large leather tie on the ring under the barrel which he uses to grab and spin the barrel to face himself. When I first introduced the toy, I would just barely slide the drawer closed so my GCC could pull it open very easily...it would almost fall open with the slightest bumping. Then I started closing it and twisting it more and more to the lock position so he has to work much harder to open it now. I like that feature because I can put a treat in it in the morning and know that he will have to work throughout the day before he'll get it open. Other foraging toys can become boring when a GCC figures them out very quickly and will need to be rotated out with other toys to keep interest. This toy is very sturdy for powerful chewers, has nicely placed "handles" for beaks and feet to grip, and can be made gradually more challenging by locking it harder. I would definitely recommend this as a great toy for small/medium parrots.

Make em work a little!
Good, sturdy little foraging device. My sun conure figured it out and although now he's very quick at it, its something for him to do when he doesn't have his favorite toy (ME!) to play with. I put a peanut in it. I haven't found another one that he can do. The other device I bought is really too large and heavy for him (or else he just hasn't got that one yet)

He enjoys throwing it across the cafe trying to open it with force.
My Conure loves this thing. I got the clear one, and he can see the tasty seeds inside. He hasn't been able to open it himself from a full closure position. After getting angry and bashing it against the cage wall for about a week, I will secretly loosen it (not that I keep it tight) a lot so it opens if he just touches it.

Not much for the bird brain
I have a 17 yo African Grey Congo. He figured this out in 3 seconds. As long as you put something sticky in it such as peanut butter or a banana it is good for a few minutes of fun but he never plays with it otherwise. And yes a snack or piece of fruit would fall right out when tray is opened. Not worth the price for very little if any interaction time.

Purchased this for my Sugar gliders (Sugar Bears)
So it took one of my gliders the space of one to two eye blinks to get this open! I was shocked they found it so easy! Guess those rose hip treats were their motivation! Still, they jump on it, try to fit inside of it etc. so it's good. Easy to clean and comes with a sturdy clip and chain so no complaints.

Good foraging toy
This is a nice sturdy foraging toy. It's a good size for my Meyer's parrot and I don't think he's going to be able to destroy it.. Unfortunately like any toy of this type eventually the bird learns to open it very quickly and mine has.

At that point the fun is over and all it is now is a ...
First off, I was expecting a green colored poly/ plastic product. However, when I received it, it was clear plastic and figured at least he could see what the reward would be once he got it opened. My Macaw got it open and the nuts went immediately to the floor, he didn't even get to eat one for all his efforts to open it. At that point the fun is over and all it is now is a nuisance to him. This may be better suited for little birds that are not as aggressive as my macaw is when playing.

If the glass was more clear it would work better. My african grey didn't bother
If the glass was more clear it would work better. My african grey didn't bother, my yellow collard will try to snatched his peanut every now and then
