I recently purchased this and it didn't work. The yarn kept getting all bunched up and wouldn't turn. Its a total waste of money. There is another brand that works excellent. But that instead of this.

(Late with review )I initially had issue with this item because when it arrived in June last year I noticed it had grease inside the plastic mechanism. I had bought one from another company and never noticed this in the other product. However when I used this new one it worked just fine! The grease must be there for a reason! I had contacted the company to complain about the grease before I realized it was meant to be there. They immediately refunded my money however it was after this that I realized the machine worked just fine! There IS a technique to using it and once you figure it out it works very well to produce lovely knitted cord. Just make sure to use quite fine yarns or cord, it won't work with thick cord as it will snag the hooks. Once you start the weaving and have attached the weight on the bottom of the cord, make sure you keep the yarn you are winding on AWAY from the yarn that is coming out of the bottom end or it will get twisted with the incoming yarn. I do this by keeping the incoming yarn more or less over my shoulder so I avoid that problem. Try to wind on with consistent speed, not too fast to prevent snagging. This was cheap made and both are broken that I have received. Yarn gets stuck, I’ve bought 3 different sizes according to suggestions it makes. The handle broke the 4th time using and that was the replacement. The first one arrived broken.

FOLLOW the set up and casting on direction. it helps :^).easy to use, and will certainly fill my needs for an i cord knitter.the regular weighted clip it ships with may be a little light. I replaced it with a 6" spring clamp.the diameter of the finished cord will vary on what weight yarn you use.just be ever watchful whilst you get comfy with it and crank slow.the yarn being fed in, needs to be loose loose loose..cons:the base is really narrow, about ⅜" barely enough for any kind of clamp to hold it down to a work station. I already have a couple ideas to remedy that.

I bought this product so I could make my own drawstrings for bags I also make. Once I found the right yarn it worked really slick! It would not work at all with worsted nor dk, but with baby yarn I was able to make 8 3-ft lengths (what I use) in my first time using it. Hints: the only tension needed is provided by the weight, I do not need to hold the yarn as it goes in to the machine. I can crank it pretty quick, but it works better with a moderate, even pace. If it gets stuck, there is something wrong and forcing it will only break something. It will occasionally drop a stitch, which can be fixed if caught in time. It was a lot of fun to use and it made something I need, so worth the money.

When I got it, It looked like someone had returned it. The box was damaged and taped up. I opened the box and the product itself looked used. There was dust and other unwanted sticky stuff on it. the plastic was scratched.Useless. Not worth 17.99
