Great, but too expensive!
This MS305E switch has a much better http menu system than the earlier simpler units, such as GS105E/GS108E. The VLAN seems to have more options, but I'm not yet fully familiar. BEWARE: use an updated Browser, or the menu items might not respond. The DHCP functionality is great, making initial setup a breeze. Then you can easily assign a static address (and be sure to reboot it). I have not (at least, yet) experienced any of the problems others have mentioned, and Amazon claims it is "frequently returned". It's only been a few hours for me so time will tell, but so far, it performs as expected. There are no functionality or bandwidth issues, and transfer speeds are the same with or without this switch in the system. I needed a 2.5Gbps VLAN switch (to replace the 1.0Gbps units) and I'm glad I selected this one. That being said, yes, it IS super over-priced! I wanted the 308, but for another $100?!!? Marketing madness!

Easy and fast setup
This switch has a nice small form factor, making it ideal for limited space applications. It is also very easy to install. With its auto negotiation set up, the switch is really plug and play. Works good with higher fiber speeds, 1GB+.

it works
My computer has 2.5 but the internet is still 1ghz. My system likes the connection anyway.

Expensive, but it works
Used this switch to combine (2) different ISPs at my house along a single run of Cat6A via 802.1q trunking. Had some trouble getting it working as one of the ports, even though set to a unique VLANs, was not working. Ended up setting it back to 1, and then to that VLAN again - then it worked. lastly, the mgmt interface is not accessible over vlan 1 (native, untagged) via the trunk connection, although it should be, as it is accessible via VLAN 1 on an access port on the switch.

Expensive, but if you want 2.5gb this is the one.
I run VLANs and I'm used to TP-Link switches, so it took a bit of adjustment but I got it working in no time. No more bottlenecks.

Switchy
About what you'd expect from a Netgear product. Lag vlan config was a little unusual but it works fine. Metal construction. I basically got it to sit between my nas and primary desktop.

Cannot Handle the Traffic
Cannot handle even a single 2.5Gbps flow. Pared the switch down to a connection to a 2.5Gbps port on the router and another to a 2.5Gbps on a PC. I attempted to copy a 40GB file from another PC on the network connected to the router via 2.5Gbps ports on both, and no matter what settings I massaged on the switch it would HARD REBOOT after several tens of GB. I had purchased two switches, and the second did the exact same thing.

Great switch
Netgear is the gold standard for home and small office use. This switch consistently hits the 2.5 gig speed using about 100 foot of cat 6 Ethernet cord. Well made and easy to use
