The Ultimate Solution for Reliable, API-Free Smart Lighting
If you are a Home Assistant power user, you’ve likely dealt with the frustration of cloud-based bulbs (like Govee) hitting API limits and becoming unresponsive. I swapped to these THIRDREALITY Zigbee bulbs to move my lighting entirely local, and the improvement in reliability and response time is massive. Flawless Home Assistant Integration These bulbs are a dream for anyone running ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT. Because they use the Zigbee protocol, they don’t rely on an internet connection or a manufacturer's cloud server to function. Integration was near-instant; they were discovered immediately and have stayed rock-solid on the mesh network. No more "API call overrun" errors—just lightning-fast response times for every automation. Exceptional Color & Performance The color quality is impressive, especially at this price point. The RGBTW capabilities provide deep, saturated colors and a wide range of tunable whites. Whether I need bright, cool white for a workspace or a warm, dim glow for the evening, these bulbs deliver without any flickering or humming. Local Reliability Moving to these bulbs has completely stabilized my smart home. Because they communicate directly with my coordinator, they don't contribute to network congestion on my 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and they respond to commands as a group simultaneously rather than the "popcorn effect" you often get with Wi-Fi bulbs. Final Verdict: For the price and the performance, these are easily some of the best Zigbee bulbs on the market for the DIY smart home community. If you’re tired of being throttled by cloud APIs and want a professional, local-first lighting setup, this 4-pack is the way to go.

Great bulbs, truly no complaints. Love ThirdReality gear so far!
I was a pretty early adopter when it came to smart home stuff. My first devices were some zigbee bulbs and a Wink hub (remember them?). Then I migrated to SmartThings before Samsung ruined that platform. Over time I have seen the ups and downs of the industry....and eventually migrated to Home Assistant as my primary control hub in 2016. Hard to believe I've been using it for about a decade now. So now I use a Minisforum MS-01 running Proxmox as my hypervisor. Home Assistant runs as a VM (HAOS) and my zigbee connection is via a SLZB-06 over PoE and interpretted by Z2M (I tried ZHA for years and always had issues with devices not exposing all of the entities properly). Maybe it's because all of my bulbs are nearing 10+ years old but I'm finding that a lot of my smart bulbs are dying. Either becoming unreliable, disconnecting frequently, or flickering. Most of them were old super heavy GE/Wink bulbs, a few CREE, Sylvania, etc. So it was time to invest in some new bulbs. Plus I accidentally bought a ton of the Segled zigbee bulbs not realizing they don't act as repeaters to strengthen my zigbee mesh. So I have since retired all of those. I checked around online and it seems like the industry is mostly wifi bulbs that are going to be cloud dependent which I am not ok with....or matter over wifi which I don't want slowing down my entire wifi network....or matter over thread which I don't have any experience with yet and no devices to create a strong mesh with....or bluetooth, which just....no. Of the few good zigbee options out there I know Hue bulbs are fine, but way over priced and can be challenging to reset and pair without a Hue hub....Sengled, which we already covered....and ThirdReality. I was really excited to see this set of reasonably priced RGB bulbs readily available from a trusted brand. I have several other ThirdReality devices from vibration sensors to door sensors and a weird RF motion sensor. They have been super reliable, so I figured these bulbs would be worth a shot. I am really glad I tried them out. So far they have been rock solid after updating to the 1.00.74 firmware. The colors are nicely saturated and relatively accurate. The tunable white is really nice (as most of my old bulbs were just warm white). I like having the ability to have the time of day dictate the color temperature of the bulbs. I REALLY like the nice default on/off transition that is not just a sharp on/off but more like a half second of fade in / out. My ceiling fans require 2 bulbs per fan and my old bulbs always had a tiny but noticeable delay between them turning on even when combined into a zigbee group. These bulbs both turn on at the same exact moment which helps ease my OCD. In any case, so far these are my favorite zigbee RGB bulbs. One thing to prepare yourselves for is how incredibly light they are. I guess I'm used to the old LED bulbs with heavy heatsyncs. These bulbs don't get anywhere near as hot, so hopefully they'll last even longer. I am attaching a video here to show some of the colors but my phone's camera doesn't do a great job with the exposure. The colors are much more saturated than they appear which you can tell from the reflection on the spinning fan blades.

Great smart bulbs; light output, RGB, Zigbee, Home Assistant, the whole works.
This is the destination smart light. The color quality is great. Perhaps not the best, but these are certainly great. No issues with flicker. The brightness of the pure white diodes is, as expected of any LED bulb, brighter than the RGB colors (this is a normal, good thing). Bulbs are incredibly simple to install. Just turn on your lamp's switch, screw it in, and it will come to life. Make sure your Zigbee solution is prepared and already scanning when you screw it in though, if your Zigbee device doesn't see the bulb, the bulb will exit its pairing mode and you will need to reset it to get it to pair again. Easier to make sure you get it the first time.

Home Assistant users will need some extra setup to get the best performance out of these bulbs.
You only get the lumens advertised when using them on with the warm/cool white settings. While I was expecting dimmer output when setting to various colors it is much lower than I would have liked. The biggest issue is the lack of color swatches the bulb use. Adjusting via home assistant color wheel in tiny amounts seems to set the bulb to the closest preset color it can handle, and there are a distinct lack of options in the purples, greens, and oranges. Where if the LEDs are RGB, one would think it would perform well combining two of the 3. Pairing was easy. The usual zigbee quirks are here, but that's not the fault of the bulb. Overall, they're... fine. Good for some colors, terrible for others. UPDATE: After further investigation, I want to add some nuance to my original 3-star rating regarding color performance. The poor color reproduction I experienced (particularly with greens and other saturated colors) turns out to be a color space translation issue between Home Assistant and these bulbs, not a hardware limitation. These bulbs use the Zigbee XY color space, while HA's color wheel works in hue/saturation. When HA converts between the two, it assumes a color gamut based on Philips Hue bulbs, which doesn't match the actual LED profile in these budget bulbs. The result is colors that look wrong or muted even though the hardware is fully capable. The fix: Instead of scenes and the color wheel, use HA scripts with explicit hs_color values instead. This bypasses the problematic color space conversion and sends color commands directly. With this approach, colors like deep greens, purples, and saturated reds render accurately and vividly. So the hardware is better than my original rating suggests; the limitation is really in how Home Assistant handles color translation for non-Hue bulbs. If you're a Home Assistant user willing to dig into scripting, (with AI if you need, it's easy to do) you can get excellent results. For casual users using Home Assistant and relying on the UI color wheel, the experience will still disappoint. Adding one star since my issue wasn't with the bulb, but a zigbee / home assistant quirk. In the end, with a little setup, the value for money is good. If you want plug and play with home assistant, be aware of the limitations as of this posting 5/25/2026

Works well
Good and affordable ZigBee bulbs for the price; works with Zigbee2MQTT and connected to Home Assistant. White temperature and RGB work as intended, but U don't know how this fares compared to "better" or "quality" bulbs like Philips Hues as I have not used those. These are my first smart bulbs.

Great Zigbee Performance, But Colors Don’t Match My Other Lights
I really like how these THIRDREALITY bulbs connect via Zigbee—it’s fast and reliable. Unlike my old Wi-Fi bulbs that sometimes lag or drop connection, these respond instantly when I turn them on or change settings through Home Assistant. All I needed was a Zigbee dongle, and they paired without any hassle. For the price, especially compared to the Govee bulbs I used before, this 4-pack feels like a solid deal. They’re simple, get the job done, and don’t clog up my Wi-Fi network. That said, the color accuracy is noticeably off. When I set both these bulbs and my Govee lights to the same color—like a warm white or soft blue—they end up looking completely different. It’s not just a slight difference; it’s obvious and kind of jarring, especially if you’re trying to create a consistent mood across rooms. I think part of the issue might be that these bulbs aren’t super bright, so the colors come across as duller or washed out compared to what I’m used to. They’re fine for general lighting, but don’t expect vibrant, true-to-setting hues. One more thing: these bulbs don’t have any built-in effects like music sync, rainbow cycles, or scene modes that Govee offers. If you’re into flashy lighting, you’ll need to handle all that through Home Assistant or another smart home system. But if you just want basic, dependable colored bulbs that work well with Zigbee and don’t cost a fortune, these are a decent pick. Just don’t expect them to match other brands perfectly.

So awesome!
I'm not a newbie to this, but I'm not an expert. This was SO easy to set up and connect to Home Assistant. Works well, love the colors.

Excellent Zigbee smart bulbs with vibrant colors
These THIRDREALITY Zigbee smart color bulbs have been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup. The Zigbee connectivity is rock solid and pairs seamlessly with my Home Assistant hub without any issues. I love the wide range of colors available — from warm whites for relaxing evenings to vibrant hues for parties and mood lighting. The 800 lumens output is plenty bright for most rooms, and the color accuracy is impressive compared to other smart bulbs I've tried. Setting up automations and schedules through my Zigbee hub has been a breeze, and the bulbs respond instantly to commands. I bought the 4-pack which is great value, and all four bulbs have been performing consistently since day one. Highly recommend these for anyone building out a Zigbee-based smart home.

Bright, responsive, and perfect for Zigbee2MQTT on Home Assistant
These Zigbee RGB bulbs do what they’re supposed to and do it well. I run them using Zigbee2MQTT on Home Assistant, and setup was seamless—no app required, no Wi-Fi congestion, just fast pairing and reliable performance. They’re from Third Reality, a brand I really love and use extensively across my smart home. These bulbs are bright, responsive, and offer excellent value. After months of daily use, I’ve had zero issues. If you want dependable Zigbee lighting, this is a solid pick.

Perfectos para Home Assistant y de buena calidad.
Muy buenos. Se integran sin temas con Home Assistant via Zigbee2MQTT (me imagino que via ZHA sería igual), y sirven de repetidores reforzando la red Zigbee. Compré más.

Best zigbee RGB lights on Amazon
Perhaps the best bang for buck zigbee RGB lights out there. The setup with Home Assistant and a third-party zigbee controller was an absolute breeze. The response is quick and the colors are bright and suits my needs. Not sure what else to say but these work as expected, and at about $10/bulb, probably the best bang smart bulbs on Amazon as well. No need for a specific app, nor do they clog up your wifi. I have 24 of these bulbs and have had no problems after 4 months of daily use.

They just work no fuss no issues
