Good sound, good features, good product
These are very good. They sound quite good for such a device, are not difficult to use and the charger seems to last a long time (manufacturer claims up to 18 hours). They are made of thick plastic, so maybe don't throw them off the roof, but under reasonable care, they should last. They come in colors, so users can know which is the one they are using. Some of the connector holes are covered with rubberized covers, which could become detached if overused or mistakenly pried off, (I did this with one. Read the manual BEFORE you use these.) The manual is not difficult to read or understand, compared to some with Asian products, although it is quite long and has a lot of detai. This unit also has a light and a button for weather info, and comes with earpieces if you want to use it without others hearing it. I cannot speak to the range of this unit, having only used it in nearby situations. All in all this is a good piece of gear. I gave it one star off for the connection covers being too easy to break off , although under normal use they should be adequate.

Great range, but cell service is not good at our house. My husband can go out to feed cows, or I can go through the cows, and we can communicate. It's been convenient.

ALIESTFDNO Long Range Walkie Talkies Very Nice, but Don't Go 5 Miles
The ALIESTFDNO Long Range Walkie Talkies are some of the best FRS radios that I've owned, having nice features like 22 channels and 155 privacy codes. The privacy codes are a unique feature. I also like the fact that they work off of a rechargeable lithium Ion battery OR standard alkaline cells. In addition to the 22 channels for communication, these radios also give access to NOAA emergency weather radio channels. Other features that I like include: a timeout timer, auto squelch, auto scan, low battery alarm, and a keyboard lock. The built-in flashlight could be useful, however, that is totally ancillary. Now, regarding the 5-mile communication claim... I used the higher power channel 3 in a range test. Obviously terrain affects range, as does weather. My test was over a region with gently rolling hills, none of which would be over 50 feet in height. Also, the path included various buildings and utility lines, but the path was generally unimpeded by any structure over a single story in height. In general, the path followed a highway (see red line-of-sight path on attached map figure).TEST CONCLUSION: static was encountered at the 2.18 mile maximum range achieved wherein conversation could barely be discerned. This is less than half of the 5-mile advertised operational range. Granted, that specification could have been over a totally unimpeded path between two mountain peaks, but for general usage over the ground, 5 miles is probably rarely going to be achieved.
