Favorite Vacuum EVER!
This lightweight vacuum is super easy to control, get under furniture, and easily switch to hand-held in seconds. Cleaning baseboards and tight corners is so very convenient with the hand-held feature, and I LOVE the super long cord. I tried two different chargeable no-cord vacuums and they both were disasters. No suction, couldn't hold a charge, so I finally switched to the Shark stick vacuum and never looked back. Super powerful suction, very easy to empty bin (yes, it is small, but so easy to empty that I don't find it's an issue), love that it stands up on its own so I can move things around to vacuum underneath, or remove the hand-held with one hand while moving chairs with the other ... SO EASY TO USE and so powerful.

TEN STARS if I could!
Oh my goodness! Where can I even begin! I was a proud owner of the iRobot i7 vacuum for years and THOUGHT because it was automated, that I could trust that it was doing its job in keeping my place clean. I could not have been more wrong! Over time, I started having major issues with the robot going around and around in circles around a table leg, or getting lost from the base, or getting stuck under something! I was so over it! 🤬 Figured I’d just get back to basics and research the best corded vacuum. In my quest, a coworker told me about the Shark stick vacuum. She loved her first one so much that when her husband so kindly thought he’d upgrade her Shark Stick vac after a number of years to a Bissell, she used the new vac once and immediately took it back to the store for the newest Shark! That said a LOT! When a person returns a known brand for (to me) one less known and then raves over powerful suction, no use of bags, and the super way it got up ALL the dog hair from her dog which shed (especially heavy in the spring). She also considered the value for the money and considered it MORE than worth it! (Not sure I should consign this as I would hate for the price to increase because to be quite honest, after my first use, I could never go back to using the iRobot (or any other brand) because hands down, the Shark puts them all to shame!) I thought because the iRobot would eventually run a course, (without some hiccup) that my carpets were clean, but I found myself having to clean them every few months with a carpet cleaner, but after one use with the Shark, my carpets looked loads cleaner than when after I’d use the carpet cleaner! And the amount of dirt that was removed from them (in a 700 square foot condo) was AMAZING! I can’t believe I was breathing in what’s in the photo and video that I have posted! The Shark stick vacuum is lightweight but VERY WELL MADE and seems VERY DURABLE! The suction is POWERFUL like NOTHING I’ve ever seen before and I’ve seen a lot of vacuums over the years! The canister for dirt storage holds a good amount of dirt and the filter makes for super easy hair removal! Emptying into the trash without my hands getting dirty was a breeze! I don’t think I’d ever recommend anything else when it comes to a vacuum that delivers on all It advertises to do! I’m hugely happy and I’m not one to become elated over “appliances” but this makes me look forward to vacuuming! So if you’re reading this, go ahead and get it! I swear you won’t regret it! I’d give this 10 stars if I could!

Powerful suction and lightweight for those of us with a bad back or senior age
After learning the hard way that refurbished vacuums are a gamble—my last refurbished Shark stick lasted almost two years before losing all suction. I decided it was time to invest in a brand-new machine. I still have a 5-year-old Shark Navigator upright but it is just too heavy, making my 62 yo back ache. It is a total workhorse, so it is now relegated to garage/deck duty. The Shark POWERDETECT Ultra-Light Corded Stick Vacuum (HZ4002) is the perfect replacement for my daily indoor cleaning! Major Pros: Self-Standing so you don't have to lean it against something as you go. Powerful Suction gives me the confidence it is doing a good job. Floor Detect which is great for automatically detecting my hardwood floors and my many area rugs. Lightweight to take pressure off my back. Direction detect that picks up debris forward and backward. I have never thought about that before but now is a must have. Self cleaning brush is a must for those of us with long hair. I won't go back! HEPA filters are crucial, especially if you have allergies. Top-Mounted Cord: The cord is located at the top of the handle, which is brilliant, as it keeps the cord out of the way, so I never have to bend over to pick it up to avoid tripping or running it over. While I’ve seen some reviewers not like the stiff cord, I don't have a problem with it. The Scent Disc: I am incredibly sensitive to strong fragrances (I absolutely hate Febreeze), and I was very hesitant about this neutralizing technology. However, you can adjust the scent intensity dial, and on the lowest setting, I hardly notice it. Upholstery/Pet Tool: The handheld attachment has a spinning roller, making it a mini-vacuum for furniture. It is absolutely awesome! Conclusion: I have no complaints about the Shark POWERDETECT. It is efficient, versatile, and has made cleaning, even with a bad back, much easier. Highly recommended

Shark and mobility concerns
This is my second Shark Powertetect Ultra-LighT Stick Vacuum. I live in a two story house, am 85 years old, and have stenosis and sciolosis. I have Sebo vacuum cleaners on both floors, but they became too heavy for my to use. I found this vacuum cleaner with its high rating on Comsumer Reports and decided to take a chance. What a surprise. It is great. It is easy to put together, to register, and to use. I now have one on each floor as it turned out to be too difficult to carry up and down stairs. I would concur with reviewer who mention that the cord is too stiff. It would be so much easier to use and to store if the cord were more pliable. I don't mind emptying the cup and washing the filters, but I do find it tiresome to reach down into the cup to clean it out. I wonder if there could be a brush included which would reach down into the cup to help in cleaning the fine dust particles. I am able to vacuum hallway runners by using the tip I found for using the the floor option setting instead of the rug option. The Shark does not work for bathroom rugs so my Sebo will have to be used for that. I was amazed at the fine dust and cat hair which were picked up. I must admit that it is my impression that the suction with the Shark is greater than the suction of the Sebo set at its highest level. I appreciate having the light and also being able to vacuum right up to the baseboard, for example. While the Sebo does have the light option, I had not chosen the light. The Sebo has a bumper in front so it cannot vacuum right up to the baseboard. I try to be very careful when I vacuum the baseboards. I would recommend this vacuum for anyone who has mobility problems. I am now better able to cope with house cleaning. I plan the vacuuming divided into areas and days so I can better cope with my mobility problems.

Good suction as vacuum and handheld BUT, the power cord is a ghastly 1 star demerit
Excellent at picking up loose detritus (pet hair, cat litter, dry cat food bits, etc.) on solid surfaces. Very good at picking up the same on carpet (berber and low pile). The carpet mode tends to pull forward and not really want to be pulled backwards but that's a minor issue. Using the vacuum as a hand held device works well. I have only used the crevice tool but, it's very satisfactory. Emptying the collection bin is very easy. The real horror show is the power cord. It's ghastly. For no apparent reason the manufacturer chose an incredibly stiff power cord. It took forever to get it to a usable state out of the box and it is still prone to kinking up and you have to stop and work on the cord. It seems to be getting slightly better with use. This is truly worth a one star demerit because it greatly decreases the ease of use.

Solid Vacuum
We bought this to replace our Kenmore canister vacuum, which was more replacement parts than original. We bought this because it was well rated on Consumer Reports. We needed something that could handle area rugs and wood floors while not taking up too much space in our small apartment. I agree with other reviews that the cord is very stiff. Does this negatively affect the vacuum? No, but it's worth mentioning. I do wish the cord was either on a swivel or that it retracted into the vacuum, since the cord position does make it awkward to wrap the cord for storage since the cord at the top of the handle will be pulled 180 degrees downwards. It makes me worried about wear and tear as time goes on. The vacuum is very lightweight. I do agree though that due to the bulk of the weight being at the top near the handle, it does put some strain on your hand as you maneuver. It's not world-ending though. People complain about the size of the canister. I don't care that it's "small". I can see how full it is and it's really easy to empty and re-insert. Takes less than a minute, so it doesn't really interrupt my vacuuming. On the old Kenmore, we often didn't realize the bag was full and would keep using it anyways since we'd have to physically open the case to check the bag status. It's nice to easily see how much the Shark has picked up and when it's time to empty. The Shark is very powerful. The first time we used it on the rug, it picked up so much dirt that our Kenmore had been missing, even with adjusting the pile level. I typically chose either the rug or hard floor setting on the vacuum -- the sensor mode does an OK job, but sometimes it will switch floor types which won't always be the best setting to use. I personally don't like the odorizer. I have it on the lowest odor setting possible. Thankfully the smell dissipates quickly. Overall, for $200, this is a good vacuum. If it were to break in 2-3 years, I wouldn't be too upset and would just purchase another.

Great little lightweight vacuum. Was surprised with the power and how many rooms I could get done.
This little vacuum is great for quick pick ups. I was really surprised how many rooms I could do. The way my carpet sheds I needed to empty the cup after every room, but it was so easy and quick to do. You may as well, just take a small can around with you in each room to empty it so that you save time from walking to the garbage can. It does a great job and it’s so nice and lightweight. It’s in my cabin all winter without being used. I’ll be back to let you know how good the battery is after sitting..

Didn't live up to the hype.
I've been looking for the perfect vacuum for my old gap wooden floors for years. I had high hopes when I read the reviews on this Shark on Amazon and a well-known vacuum review channel and compared it with other brands. However; it did not live up to the hype. First the positives: 1) It's lighter than my regular upright vacuum, so vacuuming stairs is a bit easier. Carrying the handle with you instead of just a hose can become a strain though, especially when vacuuming under cushions or furniture. 2) It has headlights, so you can more easily see the dirt and dust. 3) The pieces are easy to detach from one another with the press of a foot pedal or a toggle button. The power contacts on each piece worry me though, seems like it would be easy to damage if you continually pull them apart. 4) The controls are easy to use and conveniently placed on the handle. It starts up in the detect mode, but a button on the right allows you to easily toggle through the options of hard flooring or carpet. 5) The soft roller is useful, almost like a duster for your floors. 6) I don't see as much dust floating around in the air after vacuuming which I'm guessing is because of the filter system. 7) The on board air freshener is nice. It isn't overwhelming, and it doesn't stick around, just a fresh scent while you're vacuuming. Now for the negatives: 1) If you have area rugs, forget about it. This vacuum will pull them in on either setting. I've yet to figure out how to vacuum an area rug without the vacuum trying to eat it. The vacuum then gets angry and proceeds to turn red and you have to cut it off to reset it so it will vacuum again. 2) I have old hardwood floors. They have expanded & contracted over the years and now I am left with gaps between many of the boards. For years (15+) I've used the vacuum hose and small brushes to clean each and every gap. I had hoped that Shark's suction would be able to grab the dirt and dust from these gaps, but alas, it did not. It doesn't even suck up loose debris in the gaps, which is something that even my cheap upright will do. 3) Comes with 3 attachments, but no brush? It comes with an upholstery attachment, extender, and a small hard floor roller but you have to order a brush. How do you vacuum baseboards, molding, the air return, and ceiling fan blades without a brush? 4) Shark boasts that it has self-cleaning rollers, well my Pomeranian disagrees. Little puffs of fur have gotten hung up in the corners of the soft roller and in the smaller wheels/rollers on the base and I've had to clean it off. It hasn't stopped the rollers, yet. **Update, it will stop the roller and you have to use the small colored lever on the side to remove the roller and clean it. I have to do this ever 2 or 3 uses as it really builds up. See photos.** 5) Doesn't get dirt along the edges of the room and doesn't pick up small pieces of solid debris on the first pass. While it does a great job of picking up dust, I can't figure out why it randomly kicks out anything larger. 6) The detect feature only works if you have nice level flooring. Even our bathroom tile/grout makes the vacuum question its choice and you have to manually place the vacuum in hard floor mode. All in all, if you have relatively smooth, level, hard flooring and you need an expensive stick duster, this is your vacuum. If you have anything with an uneven surface you're going to confuse this vacuum. I had high hopes for Shark's line of products and thought this would be my introduction to their larger vacuum line, sadly it wasn't meant to be. Works great for a quick run through the house but I still resort to my old vacuum for the brush and crevice tools.

Performs very well.
Did an excellent job of detecting my wood floors and removing all the dust from them. This vacuum is a little heavier than I expected it to be.

O melhor da categoria
Eu tinha uma versão anterior do Shark Duo Clean, porém esse é muito superior. Bem mais silencioso, leve, facilmente armazenavel, pois fica em pé sem tombar. Excelente potencial de aspiração. Recomendo

Easy to use
I have had it a month and I like it so far. What is great about it is that it is very easy to use. I live in a dusty area where I need to dust frequently.

Great vacuum beware of distributor
The vacuum itself is a great product but I only know that because after buying a defective/opened one from this seller I just bought one directly from Shark for half the price. I returned the first defective one, reordered a second one hoping it was in fact new however once delivered the package was severely damaged and dented and obviously a returned item once again. Love the vacuum but will not buy from this seller Wacky Jacky again.
