Oh No, George!

Lots of fun, amusing story about trying to resist temptation, delightful
When George is left alone he promises to be good but there are temptations everywhere and George just can't resist. But then he regrets his bad behaviour and does better.Charming story, beautifully set out. The text constantly asks the question: What will George do? And then you turn the page and find out. It's just a delight to see George misbehave and then to see him rein himself in and behave well. But is he a reformed character? The reader is left with that question.Fun.

Love it!
This book is ADORABLE! And it's a nice big size, full of color! George is a cutie and gets himself into a pile of trouble before he figures out self control. My boy is going to adore it (Just not yet, since it's a Christmas present). If you have a dog, your kid will probably be amused by this book.

Charming book
I am a Christian Educator and work in a Presbyterian Church. I purchased this book to use one Sunday in worship when the theme of worship was Jesus' temptation in the wilderness. I read the book to the children who came forward for the children's sermon. George is tempted to misbehave when his owner leaves him at home alone. He gets into a plant and chases the cat and eats a cake. Even though he thinks about it and knows what is right, he still gives in to temptation. When confronted by his owner with his mistakes George apologizes and says he will try to be better. Then we see a series of occasions upon which he resists temptation. The illustrations are charming and the wording simple enough for a preschooler but still funny enough for an older child. George is like all of us. He wants to "behave" but sometimes falls short. I highly recommend this book. Though not a religious book, it teaches values that we all can applaud.
