Initially it was great but within a couple of weeks it broke. The pole fixing had rusted and snapped off despite the fact we haven't had any rain since May, so this was faulty before it got to me. All I need is a replacement pole as base is fine but you can't seem to buy them. This is the bit of every parasol base that fails so if there are any manufacturers reading this, please start selling replacement poles!! Anyway, Amazon did refund me but I now have to try and find another heavy parasol base and every seller has sold out!

Sheerness? Not sure how an umbrella stand can be sheer. Unless they mean sheer as in 'absolute' in which case, yes, it is absolutely an umbrella stand!

Looks fantastic, but te wind blew our parasol over within a week or so (to be fair we have a big parasol) and it broke. They've sent us a new one, that hasn't broken, but in wind doesn't keep the parasol up. If you have a small one I think you would be fine, but don't buy if you have a large one

Good practical base. Chipped on one corner, which was disappointing. Easier to fix with heavy duty glue than sending it back.

Great weight to hold any size umbrella. Looks good and has a nice bronze effect finsh. Well worth the cost.
