Before my wife's knee surgery the hospital offered the option of purchasing an ice machine to aid the healing process. Purchased a large silicon cold bag for the first knee, which worked well but had to be in the freezer for a couple of hours before using again. Decided to research the machine as a more efficient option. Picked the eluga.pro as the best value for quality and reliability. We have been very satisfied so far. Simple to set up and use. I use 4 frozen bottles of water and the water stays ice cold all day. Wife loves the automatic adjustable timer. Been using it every day for over a week now. No problems, no leaks.

I got this for upcoming knee surgery, but set it up and tried it out to make sure it was OK, and now I am using it every day for my knee AND an arthritic shoulder- is the perfect amount of cooling and works much better than the reusable gel pads that I have used in the past. I got it because it said Made in USA BUT, the actual pad/hose attachment came in a bag that said it was made in China. And this part looks a little cheesy, I hope it lasts. I used the frozen bottles which was a great idea, I think they would have lasted 24 hrs, but am refreezing after 16. I don't have any if the drip problems mentioned in other reviews, but I AM going to stock up on replacement parts. I am only using the timer each time I use it, am not sure if it is programmable to cycle, but I don't need that function anyway. But all in all, I wish I had bought one of these years ago for icing after lots of activity for my "bad knee" and injuries to my "good knee" .

In February, I had a knee replacement surgery. Originally, I was going to have delivered an ice machine through a company recommended by my surgeon. That company wanted almost $400 to RENT an ice machine for TWO weeks. After I received that information, I came to Amazon and was searching for machines. This is the one I chose. It did not disappoint! Not only did it cost half of the medical supply, but I would own it! After a knee replacement, I used it a heck of a lot longer than two weeks! I ordered the programmable unit and the time worked beautifully, 20 minutes on, 40 minutes off. All one has to do is put four frozen water bottles in the unit and fill with water. We had eight bottles frozen and we only had to change the bottles once every eighteen to twenty-four hours. The only downside is the pad was just a little uncomfortable at times but that was not even enough to cause me to give this product less than five stars. BEST PRODUCT EVER!

I want wish I could give it 5 stars but the on/off programming control button is cheap! It works if you turn it on and off. But as far as setting it to a time limit, that doesn’t work. I just push it until it starts and gently lay it down so it doesn’t reset or turn itself off. For the amount I paid I wouldn’t expect it to be made as cheap. A few Pros: It works and it stays wrapped around my knee. It stays cold for a decent amount of time. So, it really helped me with my knee replacement, 4 stars. I’d honestly give it 3 1/2 because of the quality. Again, it works way better then just ice packs!!! I used ice packs instead of ice in the cooler, the water will stay cold longer. Using ice does work as well, it will get extremely cold! The hassle of dumping/scooping water out once the ice melts can be a mess. Once I can really look at it I may just buy a timer and replace the one on here.

very simple to operate without the timer unit or with. Easy to move with the carry handle and relatively compact when stored with most of it able to fit inside the cooler. Holds the water cold for a long time using frozen water bottles which are easy to swap out. Does not leak at hose connections.

Long term arthritis in both knees. I have been using reusable "ice" pads for years. My ortho surgeon's preoperative booklet included an ad for a competitor product. I didn't know something like this was available. I bought this just before getting cut (unicompartmental angioplasty). I've used it everyday for the first 12 days post op. Well worth the cost using my HSA. I alternate between 2 sets of frozen water bottles in the Iglo mini cooler. I usually have 30 min of cold therapy and 60 min between therapy periods.

I had a total knee replacement on March 7, 2024, and ordered the Beluga to help me in my recovery. One month later the cord went out and I had to order a replacement. The wire stripped out at the plug, creating a short and shock risk. Then the motor went out and no longer works. The tank is good. The hoses are good. The pump crapped out and I can only buy a replacement by ordering 5 as a sample from Alibaba. I can’t find this pump anywhere else on the web, including Beluga. When it worked, it worked well. Three months of use and I’m having to jury-rig it with a noisy pump from another maker. As a concept, the idea is great. But using crap parts for the key parts makes it a poor choice.
