This is the one guys! Quit looking at those kits that come with a junk ass tool that everyone says it bends the tool with 5/16 rivet nut. This one it’s tough as nails and will do 3/8 rivet nuts with ease. Easy to use. It as a decent price for the tool you get. This one is definitely worth the money, which isn’t common on Amazon because most of the tools in here are Chinese junk. This one just works and isn’t a one use tool then off to the landfill.

I used this so far to rivet some new threaded holes to mount my gas cap door on my truck. The little plastic screw mounts had deteriorated. There is a bit of a learning curve, but if you read the instructions carefully, then it's not too bad. I was surprised at how easily it crimps the rivets. It took very little force and at first I thought it wasn't working, but alas the rivet was secure and wouldn't budge. I much prefer this over the other style that requires a lot of leverage. It's also great for tighter spaces where you can't even fit the other styles of rivnut tool. The kit also fulfills most of my needs and the included rivnuts seem to be of good quality. I think it's worth that little bit of extra expense over the traditional rivnut tools because it's just a better tool for the job.

Do like this tool, worked good when putting on add on fenders for a Jeep. It is a little tricky at times adjusting it to get a nut started, just be patient, it does work and the rivet nuts hold well. Works well in getting into tighter places.

I've wanted a rivet nut tool for some time. Most are similar to pop rivet tools - two handles that squeeze together. I saw this tool and liked the size and the fact that it will work better in tight spots. The kit comes in a nice case that holds the tool and accessories securely. The instructions are well written and easy to understand. Operating the tool was easy. I tested the tool with a 1/4-20 rivet on a sample piece of metal. The instructions say to subtract the thickness of the metal from the grip length of the nut to determine the amount grip stroke. Instead of doing that I just measured the remaining grip area after inserting the rivet in the piece of metal. (See sixth picture.) The tool easily pulled the nut and squeezed it down to the scale I measured. The only "tricky" part was that to squeeze the rivet you rotate the upper part counter clockwise. The result is shown in the last picture. If you're looking for a rivet nut tool, give this one serious consideration. You won't be disappointed if you get it.

Being a beginner , this tool was wonderful. It took me no time learning it after doing a practice rivnut. Do the practice one before starting because you will learn how it works.

I used this to install numerous thread inserts into my race car chassis. When replacing the floors, I made them bolt-in, with closely spaced bolts around the perimiter for safety. This makes accessing equipment for service in the cockpit much easier.

Had to return. The ratchet did not work when received.
