Defective switches
First switch lasted less than 24 hours. Amazon sent me credit to purchase a replacement. The second switch lasted 3 days. I put the replacement switch that I got and so far it is working for 4 days. I am hoping that it was a freak problem with the first two. I need 3 more and I am going for it. Let you know if there are further issues. By the way, I am using KNC wall plugs without problem. I am hoping to only use KNC since they are working well with Alexa. Amazon Customerservice is excellent.

Easy install, works well with one quirky switch
Update: company responded to email. Gave some suggestions to try to fix it, and offered to ship a new one if they didn't work. They didn't work. However turning power to switch off and on again worked despite it seeming to be a mechanical problem. So I increase to 4 starsgiven that the company responded and the switch is not broken.Update 2: we are about 6 months in, and the same thing has occurred with three of the four switches (manual operation stopped working, remote operation continues to work fine). Again, turning the power to the switch off and on (flipped breaker in breaker box) resolved the problem. 3/4 is pretty bad odds, however at least the fix is easy.Original review: Bought 2 of these on sale (total 4 switches). I read the reviews, but at the price I got them figured it was worth a try. I had no problems following instructions to install and get operational (be aware may need to long press switch for it to enter appropriate pairing mode). App is easy to use, linked to my google assistant which works perfectly both turning individual lights on and off and in routines. To be honest, build quality seemed mediocre compared to the manual switches I was removing, but I figured you get what you pay for.Everything was great until yesterday. One of the switches (our master bath light switch; of the 4 installed, this one gets the most daily manual use) stopped working manually (I.e. it works perfectly with app and google control, but depressing the switch does nothing). This is with only a few months of use. I emailed the contact address on their website (www dot powerkmc dot com) and I am waiting for a reply. Given the other reviewer who reported not hearing back my hopes are low. If I hear back and get a replacement product and the two year warranty is legit, I will update this review and increase my rating. However, buyer beware, this does not appear to be a quality mechanical product. I will be looking elsewhere for switches to replace these.

not worth the time and effort - Cheap
I purchased 6 of these to go with an echo dot and Alexa to automate my home. I attempted to install the first two in the kitchen and dining room of my home. The wiring was a no brainer but hookup to wifi was a totally different story. I followed the instructions to the letter and set my router to 2.4ghz. After trying for 2 hours I finally managed to get one to connect. The 2nd one never did so I figured it was defective and tried another switch in the same box. Boom! it connected 45 seconds after I started the attempt so I figured I'd install the other 3 the following day. No sooner than finishing putting my tools up I noticed them flashing and the app showed them as offline. Hmmm, router issue maybe.....nope! everything else in my house was still connected. I rebooted it anyway and in about 5 minutes they reconnected. I thought it might be a glitch and proceeded to show my wife how they worked. Later that night I noticed they disconnected from wifi 2 more times and reasoned they might be a tad too far from the router for a strong signal and ordered a wifi extender from Amazon. Thinking I had it figured out, I went ahead as planned and installed the 3 bedroom switches the following day. Again wiring them was no big deal so I wanted to confirm the no connect issue with the switch I couldn't connect the day before. To my surprise, it connected after a couple tries in our front bedroom so disconnecting it from power may have reset something overnight.... anyway I installed it and the 2 others with only minor connection issues. All the while the two in the kitchen/dining area would loose connection periodically. The first 2 switches are closer to the router than the bedrooms and the bedrooms seemed to stay connected the first day. I got to the last switch which was to be installed in our garage. Wired it in and spent 2 hours again trying to get this one to connect. It never did. I took it out, switched locations, reset the wifi …. nothing - it would not connect. The switch worked the light but it just wouldn't connect to wifi. 1 out of 6 bad out of the box. The wifi extender arrived a day or two later and I installed it with no problems. I re-associated the switches to it and it's dedicated 2.4ghz signal. Fixed.... I thought. I had the same issues as with the first 2 switches and the following morning none of my lights associated with these switches would come on. I flipped the breaker for each set and they connected again, lights came on and off.... but for how long I wondered. Over the course of the week they were disconnect more than connected and the blue lights flashing in the bedroom at night was a pain.... but not nearly as much of an issue as with the lights randomly coming on.... or going off without command. There is no website for KMC switches and I couldn't find any contact information so after about 10 days or so I ordered switches from a different company and am sending these back. Don't waste your time.

Good value for the price! Minor problems, but there is a quick fix!
Overall, for the price of other smart light switches, it's tough to beat KMC. I own their other four outlet receivers with energy monitoring, power strips with energy monitoring, and individual mini plugs with energy monitoring. Overall, the quality and build for the items are hard to beat for the price. The KMC app is easy to use and pair any and all products. It allows you to remotely control all power outlets and lights, as well as set timers to power on and off these devices. With the lights, there is a bug that after a while, the manual switch doesn't work and only the app will function. To fix this, turn off the power from the main breaker box and restore it after 60 seconds. That fixed three of mine at once. Hopefully a future update will fix this. Once it is patched, I will give it a five star review.
