works, is waterproof, good value.
The media could not be loaded. I loved that the wires were nice and long so I could splice into where the old failed switch was. This one seems much more robust. We'll see how long it works and report back later.

works longest of all my switches, but has serious design flaws that are easily overcome.
Been around boats for decades. I never bought the expensive pump switches, nothing more than $40. Out of the cheaper float arms, this design lasts the longest, I have some going on 10 years in salt water bilge that does get wet with a small leak, so the pumps get exercised. The issue is with the proper install. Fiddling with the wires is dumb as designed. Solution is to drill a small hole on each side of the screw attachment, cut the side exit slot deeper, and pass wire thru that hole and out the side. Wire is then retained in the right spot when attaching the switch. Other issue is shutting off the pump. The steel ball has to roll down from the internal microswitch lever. The float has to almost touch floor of the bilge to turn off power. Solution is to mount the screw side of the base higher to allow float to drop low enough to ensure pump shuts off. Great thing with switch design is no float arm pivot rubber seals for the float to swell stick leak into switch. I have not had the wires break internally with any of these switches yet.===================Editing, I installed switch and it worked ok without the wood shim on the base. I like the switch design over all the other float arm switches as it seems to last and keep working. You can also wire in a 40 amp cube relay to run the pump and the switch runs the relay, which I did on 2 rule 3700 pumps which draw more current to keep the switch from being stressed.

It is a Float Switch
There are many options in this category. I have two pumps on my boat and both use this switch. So I purchased as a direct replacement, same wires, same hole locations, and I know it works. The key is how long they last is the real indicator of quality. All of them eventually leak and rust. Only time will tell. Longer is better. The product was exactly as described, shipped and arrived as stated and package was new.

Adapts to OEM Johnson Pump for 2011 Grizzly Tracker 1860 (500 GPH)
My Grizzly 1860 came with a yellow Johnson Pump (an SPX Brand) 550 GPH Cartridge Submersible Pump. Unfortunately, it was wired for only on or off. This means if it rains or you have unexpected water fill the bilge your boat might become an anchor (it should be illegal to make bilge pumps that are not automatic). Found this 26014 Marine Automatic Float Switch and noticed that my original OEM bilge seems to have the little hook-mount-bracket for this switch to mount so I order it. Although it snaps/slides into place, the engineers who mounted the bilge did a terrible job as there was room for the switch and they riveted the bilge mount to the boat. Ultimately had to cut the rivets, remove the mounting bracket separate the bilge and move the entire assembly in order to remount a little deeper and/or towards the stern in order to get room for the float to move freely. Wiring instructions were useless and over complicated. I elected to wire the pump inline to the positive lead so when I flip the bilge pump to "on" it will not pump unless the float is "floating". If for some reason I need to turn on the bilge and the float is not "floating" I'll just reach down and elevate/prop up the float so the bilge engages (not sure why you would need to have the bilge on unless there was water in the bilge elevating the float).Looking forward to forgetting to put the plug in after launching and testing to see how well the float works.
