MUST BUY!!!!
This is a great little light. I use it for portable shoots for my YouTube channel, for portrait head shots, and interviews. I suggest getting the modifier to soften the light. But this is a gem of a light. The only issue is with this model you get a handle instead the traditional up and down pointing mount. The battery seems like it last forever. I don't I have ever killed my SmallRig vmount battery while at location. Must have for a small set one person maybe two.

Great for travel
I was just at CES in Vegas, doing sitdown interviews as well as interviewing while we walked around on the floor. I brought this as my key light with soft box in addition to two other inflatables which are fantastic, but this one is very compact. I like that I can use a mount battery on it. Great output.

Why do they keep doing this?
SmallRig is an incredibly confusing company. Many of their offerings are top notch. They're positioned in between cheap and out of budget, expensive brands. You can often show up to a shoot looking the part of the professional as you pull your gear from their lovely cases and present very professional looking gear. Then you have products like this.I suppose that, in an attempt to make up for the quality they're giving you, SmallRig has moved towards bare bones products like this.IMPORTANT: if you don't have a battery (v-mount or lp), a 100w usb-C brick, or an elusive 5 pin D-tap (I've done a search and can't seem to find one on amazon), you won't be able to use this, because you only get a light with one adapter plate. You also can't use standard, mini bowens mount modifiers as SmallRig is using a "new generation of self-developed quick-release patented designs" for their modifiers. This innovation? It's basically a mini-bowens with slightly different tolerances so that you are forced to buy more modifiers for SmallRig.Want to plug this thing in and use it like a regular COB? That'll be $50 for a power adapter please. Oh, and would you like to use an umbrella like they show in their own instructions? Sorry, that handle doesn't ship with this light. In fact, the handle that ships with it does absolutely nothing. 1/4 20 male on top, 1/4 20 female on bottom. It doesn't even turn into a tripod.NOTE: Picture 4 is the error you get when you try to use a low powered usb brick. 5% output.I used one of my own umbrella mounts so that I could diffuse the light and you can see what the spread looks like both with and without the dish attached. My final photo is this entire setup, along with v-mount batteries, packed into the travel case that came with the Godox 60bi mkII, with some of the added pieces, like diffusion socks that came with that unit, because this one doesn't come with a convenient travel case, nor does it even come with the silicone diffusion dome. Why the four stars then? Well, it is a good light. It has quality, output, and is incredibly impressive, so that has to be acknowledged. Would I pick up another one of these? No. Would I suggest anyone else get one? If you already have modifiers, power, and mounting options...maybe. If you lack all those things then I'd skip signing up for this money pit.

Small but mighty!
We used this light for a nighttime parade, the color balance and brightness was better than anything we’ve used in the past. The V mount let us use our 100 small rig battery. 60 minutes of continuous use and only drained the battery 50%

I was not impressed
I am in Hawaii and the batteries cannot be shipped to Hawaii. I am not impressed with the settings either but I do admire the size since it’s light and compact. I am returning because I cannot order the NP-F970 batteries.

It stopped working in the middle of a recording
The media could not be loaded. I was very happy with this product until it stopped working in the middle of a recording for a client, first apparently it was an overheating problem but when I wanted to use it again it no longer worked, it won't let me use it either with the cable or with the v mount battery, I'll try to get a replacement or refund since I don't know if I should trust againUPDATESmallrig customer service contacted me and even after requesting a refund and returning the damaged item, in a gesture of goodwill they sent me another replacement item even though I had already received my refundApparently this problem was an isolated problem and I will definitely continue to enjoy Smallrig's excellent products

Lots of light in a small package!
Nice portable COB LED light that is relatively small but puts out a very nice amount of good quality light.Color temp range is nice and wide fr a variety of moods and color matching.Brightness adjustment is a nice range as well.Nicely made with a nice look and feel, it feels nice and durable. It does require battery power, but I think most people have some V Mount or Np-f style batteries laying around.Battery consumption wasn't too bad and I was able to shoot for most of the night on one charge. Not a bad kit for the money.Easy and intuitive to use too.
