Candice Olson Bedrooms

The pictures are beautiful and detailed. The text is interesting and would probably be helpful to someone remodeling. However, if you want to create any of the bedrooms in the book, you’ll need a boatload of money.

I am in the process of creating the bedroom of my dreams on a not so huge budget, but this doesn't mean it will not be as glamorous as I have envisioned. But I wasn't sure where to start and I have always adored (and miss her very much on HGTV) Candice Olson's flair and great taste. So, I felt I couldn't go wrong with her design book on bedrooms! Truth is, I think I remember most of the bedrooms from her shows, and it has been a joy to take my time going through each bedroom and all her design tips. I have gleaned so much useful information from this book, and best of all her designs are so classic! In some of them the one thing that dates them are the televisions, other than that you would think she just created all these great looks yesterday. And that is exactly what I'm hoping to achieve...a very classic and timeless look. The book is large, sturdy, very colorful and packed with loads of information, ideas and tips! If you are looking for ideas to redo your bedroom or even a child's or teen....this is the book for you!

Thanks to ideas gleaned from this book, I now look forward to starting in on my two very small bedrooms. Candice proves a lot of ideas and advice which I have been able to incorporate into my own ideas of how I would like my rooms to look and feel. These designs are classic, bold & chic. I'm not a creative person but this book provides ideas and examples of what works together. For the first time I really understand how important it is to start out with the right pallette for my apartment. Everything I watched during her shows is explained in the same detail in this book along with interesting side notes about some of the challenges Candice had to overcome during the creation of the individual HGTV shows. This book will work for you whether you are a novice or an experienced creative designer wannabe.

Always well thought out, but not always budget friendly....meh. There is so much within her designs that you can adapt to your home. I wish I could afford the loads of custom cabinetry she uses but I have found that if I try to mimic her proportions and use of color I can usually make things work. I love the way she makes a room look "put together". This book has lots of eye candy for all to enjoy; not too girly, not too neutral. Just right!

Large books with wonderful decorating ideas

This is a nice book with great pictures. It arrived much sooner than expected!

I do not think that there is any published decorator that I admire more, than Candice Olson, and that opinion remains, after delving into this book. I only wish that I could see some suggestions of Candice's, for a TALL bedroom, such as I have - with 14' ceilings!!! Overall, having such a book in my hands, the strategies that Candice uses, is wonderful, in the meantime, are wonderful - Go Candice! Thank you for your creativity and inspiration, and impecible taste! Carry On!!!

I like watching her show, and I liked her Kitchens and Baths book, but the designs in this book were just blah. I like a more clean-lined contemporary style, and there wasn't much in these books that made me want to recreate it in my own home. Also, most of the projects were playground sized bedrooms, big enough to have fireplaces and sitting areas, and that just isn't the case for most folks I know.

I love everything that Candice Olson does. This book showed some of her bedroom designs with detailed explanations on how she resolved design problems. All of the materials and products used can be found online so that is great if you are looking for something specific. I am looking forward to her next book.
