Works perfectly. Read and write speeds are limited to 30mbps which is slow and not usb 3 speeds.

Chinese sourced product and branded on top of it but it's firm, sturdy, portable and does its job. It doesn't work with old laptops I think, because it didn't work with my decade old 15-be012TU laptop. Woke up my 6 year old hdd which I thought was dead, on first try on a newer (2 yr old) hp laptop. And I'm not a heavy user, only once or twice in 3 months. So I may not be the right person to comment on consistent, long term use. No excessive heat production in my opinion. Don't keep on bed, clothes (thermal insulators) if you feel it's getting too hot. Keep on desk, wooden or metal surface or floor.

Good product. But price is much more as per product quality. This enclosure solve my problems. The cable quality is good. The power supply adopter build quality is average, but supplied voltage & current fulfill as per requirement.

Very disappointing experience. I purchased this enclosure to use with my 3.5-inch SATA hard drives, but it has been unreliable from the beginning. The drive is detected normally, but during large file transfers, the enclosure disconnects unexpectedly. After reconnecting, Windows frequently shows a "USB device malfunctioned" error, and the drive is no longer recognized until it is unplugged and connected again. To ensure the hard drive wasn't the problem, I tested two different 3.5-inch HDDs, and both exhibited the exact same issue. I also tried multiple USB ports on my laptop, but the problem persisted. This makes the enclosure unsuitable for backups or transferring large amounts of data, as any unexpected disconnect can interrupt the transfer and risk data corruption. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product for anyone looking for a reliable external enclosure for 3.5-inch hard drives.

It's power supply feature is a major drawback the usb port too is kind a loose and connection can be disrupted with minor non-deliberate movement. The USB is 3.0 so transfer speed is good but it is a operate with care type of a device
