Sephra Belgian Dark Hot Drinking Couverture Chocolate 1kg

I will definitely be repurchasing this chocolate. It's divine. I use it in an electric milk frother (a cheap one not the one from the chocolate hotel) and it works a treat. The smoothest, frothiest, most delicious beverage ever. It's rich without being sickly and makes the hot chocolate of your dreams. This huge bag of chocolate is excellent value for money when you compare to other brands out there. Could you grate your own bar of chocolate for less money? Of course you could but realistically, who can be bothered with that? I'd end up grating my fingers so that's a no from me. Do yourself a favour, buy this instead of slaving over a cheese grater with a bar of chocolate.

This is my second purchase and once again, I am delighted with this hot chocolate. The smooth and rich chocolate flavour is always a treat and I can say it is quite an indulgent drink. The only method I’ve tried is the velvetiser and it has done a great job: the result is hot chocolate with a silky texture and pronounced frothing. I assume the hob or microwave should be just as effective since the chocolate tastes incredible regardless of the preparation method. The 1kg size is quite big and offers great value based on quality. You will not regret it, whether you are making a hot chocolate for yourself or entertaining guests. Highly recommend!

After a recent purchase of a Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser I was looking for an alternative to their sachets which worked out at £13.00 per 10x35g sachets which made for an expensive home made hot chocolate. The Sephra Dark Hot chocolate is in 1 kg bag for £13 and is just as smooth and tasty as the premium brand. The ground chocolate flakes were actually finer than the premium brand and melt so quickly in the velvetiser. Discovering this brand at this price point means the family can now enjoy a gorgeous chocolate drink whenever they want without breaking the bank.

I have bought and enjoyed the dark hot chocolate the first the last couple of year. Just once a year. In 2022 I paid 12 pounds, in 2023 16 pounds and this year the subscription price is around 22 pounds. This seems like a huge increase way beyond inflation over two years. It's a real shame as I would have liked to continue buying this treat to myself and my family, it is delicious.

Honestly quite addictive drinking this. Can’t wait to use with my Salter hot chocolate maker. It’s quite sweet. Not dark enough for some dark hot chocolate lovers.

Lovely, tasty, and with enough cocoa content for you to be able to taste it - don't worry about it being dark chocolate as when mixed with milk it is almost as good as Callebaut Dark Hot Chocolate, which is no longer available. It is better than Callebaut 823 Milk Chocolate Couverture Callets which doen't have enough chocolate, and Van Houten Dark 100% Hot Chocolate which is too dark in my opinion. Works well with the Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser.

It melts well in the velvetiser - but is very sweet. I found I have to buy the hotel Chocolat version and mix it with this to make it palatable. Would be fine if you like a sweet drink
