I guess maybe I don't have enough experience, but this was something I looked for when purchasing and it is not described anywhere. So for mt 5/16 outside diameter pipe I suspect that I need 3/16 connectors...I guess we will see when it comes in. The description could be a lot more descriptive (hence the 3* rating) but I am glad we have this site as I could not find these connectors anywhere locally.Update: after ordering 3/16 connectors for my 5/16 line I installed these no problem (warm up the plastic line with hot water). In the end I am very happy I could get these online...just frustrated that they did not have sufficient information to order correctly the first time. Solvents and acids cause them to need to be replaced now and then, but they work fine and are durable for a very long time.. On air or water only tubes, I imagine they would last indefinitely.
