great gift
Loads of variety, great gift for my dad, he loved them however, when I opened the box to look at them I was faced with a big spider (I am petrified of spiders, to the point if I see one I cry and generally run away) so with my Spidey reflexes I shut the box taped it up (I was a brave soldier) wrapped the box up and put it in my mum's car boot. Xmas day comes and we're all on pins waiting for my dad to open the box to see if the big boy is still in there and to no surprise there it was in all its glory. I ran as fast as I could and I'm a big girl so that's hard for me. Long story short my hero of a father scooped it up and put it way out in the garden (because we do not kill creatures, it may of had a family) and we had a fantastic Christmas day. As little Timmy would say "god bless everybody" the end.

A good selection from Marston's
I have set myself the challenge of reviewing each beer individually, so long as my liver holds out. Here I can tell you that this case offers pretty much 'supermarket' (= good) value per 500ml bottle in a selection of beers from the Marston family. It includes two of my all-time favourite <4% bottled bitters - Banks's (3.8%) and Brakspear (3.4%) - as well as Hobgoblin (5.2%), Pedigree (4.5%), Jennings Cumberland (4%) and Ringwood Boon Doggle (4.2%). No, they are not craft brews, they are filtered, and they are pasteurised (most are) ... so if your idea of a good pint is something more 'natural', fruity or tasting of herbs, these won't float your boat. But if you like bitters that taste, er, bitter, you can't get to a pub to have the real thing, and you don't want to pay a lot more per 500ml, you could do worse.

Good packaging, good beer!
These were packaged extremely well, each with their own department within the box. There's a great choice of beers and was excellent value for money. I'd recommend these to any beer lover, or someone wishing to expand their tastes to new beverages.

Great packaging good taste
The box came while presented and well packed, it had clearly been well handled. Speaking as a real ale fan the Marston's Classic Ale had a good variety of beers. I liked the Hobgoblin ones the most.

All your favourite ales in one box
A great pack of Ales, perfect for my FIL for Christmas. A classic selection of most of his favourites. Arrived in a HUGE box which saw the box of ales well packaged surrounded by plenty of packing paper to prevent breakages.

Go to Tesco
I purchased this as a gift for someone who had undertaken some work for us and I was too busy to nip around to Tesco and get him a present: ideal, I will look on Amazon and sure enough there was this box.The beer arrived promptly but looking at the selection and having a pretty good knowledge of what is available and at what price, I was amazed to see that 4 of the 6 beers were readily available at Tesco and the Banks's for example available at £1.00 a bottle (a steal I might add for a very nice beer). Similar and not more expensive for the other three beers. So what were they like to drink. I haven't drank all of the beers but, they are average except the Banks's which I think is a really good Midland brew. The Hoboglin is an acquired taste, which I haven't yet, the forty niner brewed in Ringwood is a reasonable southern beer and the Cocker Hoop is ok. ALl of the beers are drinkable and I would not complain, but should I be presented with the same situation again, I would get off my backside as this item is not worth £28.00.

Great buy
I am an ale drinking through and through and I was very impressed with this mix and the price. So much so that I treated myself to 2 for christmas and I had a very happy christmas! Well packaged and quick delivery, couldn't ask for more unless someone can install an ale tap!
