52147 Copper Soldering Iron KL 147

It is a well built piece of equipment. I usually use an electric Iron to solder stainless steel flashing together, but when you have to do it outside it is a little hard to keep the heat. Having a large iron with propane heat does the job well.

Using this for soldering copper & brass 100%

This item clearly shows and indicates it comes with an orange hose and connections. This is not the case and is misleading. Had I known that there wasn't a hose included I would have bought a different item. This item is expensive as other parts are needed. Very dissatisfied with this purchase.

Een professional zal er vast iets op aan te merken hebben, gezien het prijsverschil met andere soldeerbranders. Maar voor mij werkte het erg goed. Met behulp van youtube instructies heb ik hiermee voor het eerst een dakgoot gesoldeerd, en dat ging goed.

The soldering iron works great, and heats copper joints well. It's a bit like icing a cake. But the fitting is European. So I bought the reduction fitting (amazon.de) in an attempt to connect the German soldering iron to a USA purchased propane hose. The fitting was made as advertised and delivered promptly: left hand female thread to left hand male thread reduction fitting. The larger female threads connect properly to the soldering iron. Connector Transition Female 3/8 Inch Left x Male Thread 1/4 Inch Left Reducer Gas Adapter Brass for Gas Hose 1/4 Gas Stove Brand: Phönix Germany Unfortunately it did not work, since the male threads did not match to my USA hose fitting. So, I needed to cut both hoses and splice with a piece of 1/4" copper pipe and four hose clamps. Not a pretty solution, but it works.
