Looks are decieving. Still a great pipe
I have bought 2 of these. 1 for myself and one for my friend. First impression is it seems small in the hand. The bowl seems small and it is just a bit. But it smokes exceptionally well. If you pack it tight to get more tobacco in it (as with larger bowls) it will run hot. 2 pinches in it works well. Also runs cooler when not overloaded. The value is great fow how well it smokes. It's fit and finish is very nice. It fits in a pocket easily and can carried easily. It is awesome for getting a smoke in at lunch time or break time when you don't have excessive time for a longer smoke. I carry it every day. Use it every day and have found it to be very versitile. I would recommend it to anyone looking for good smoking pipe that can be used when time is limited. It fits a niche that many will like. Definitely will buy another to add my rotation because of how well it works and smokes.

Good knock around pipe
This Spiper pipe came with a sock in a box, not a bad start. The bowl is .70 diameter x 1.2 deep. It's a small pipe but not petite like a peterson junior. No logo or markings on pipe exterior so I'm going to call this a nice basket pipe that you might find in your local brick and mortar. I sanded the bowl just a little with 220 grit to make sure it was clean of laquer and cleaned with bourbon and rubbed some ashes in to help break in. It will accept a 9mm balsa filter. Fit and finish is OK. Loaded with haunted bookshop it draws nicely and smokes just fine. If you need a pipe for camping, yard work or just to leave in your vehicle as a spare this will work. If you sit on it and snap it in half, hey it's not a Dunhill or even a peterson so no tears.

Really nice!!
I'm a hobbies pipe smoker for about half a year now, so I'm not and expert, however, I've tried many different pipes in many styles. I was surprised at how petite these pipes are (I bought two of the four I saw offered..at first!). Almost difficult to hold with slightly above average size hands, but I've grown accustomed. Easily clenches in the teeth though! I can't personally guarantee they are 100% briar, but they sure smoke and handle the heat well! Deceptive size bowl. Can hold more tobacco than I'd imagined when I first opened the box. Bowl gets warm but after a break in period, it's ony warm and not hot..that's a quality of briar! The darkest brown one was the only one that didn't have a pre carbon layer already applied and I'm a big fan of that! Nothing wrong with the extra protection a carbon layer offers, but it's nice building it up on your own and you really get the taste of the wood with tobacco and a sense of accomplishment in a way. Shipping went great! Have purchased all four of their Zulu styles in various wood shades and would purchase in different shape styles too! Overall a very pleasant smoking pipe!

Small but nice
I wish there was a standard way to describe pipe sizes, just like there is for cigars. The photo shows what I will call small, regular and large pipes. These pipes are small, but nice for the price. I like that it accepts 9mm filters. There is no pre-carbon liner like some pipes offer, but for the price you canโt ask for all the bells and whistles. Iโm happy with my purchase. Good for a shorter smoke. The second down on the left is what I received.
