Worked great until the wind blew it down and it cracked it all the way through. :(

Woodlik's WLCLBAF16 16-inch Plastic Baffle Hang or Pole Mount, Clear
We have several bird feeders in the yard and we also have several different types of baffles. Since we live in the Northwest, rain is a major issue and the primary reason we buy baffles. All of our feeders are of the variety that deter squirrels so being a squirrel baffle is not their primary use.During the last big storm here, one of our baffles was broken and we needed to get a new one. We had been using deeper dome baffles and decided it might be better to have a flatter design so that it was easier to see the birds. That is why we ordered this product. Here is what we liked: 1. Simple design that is very easy to use. You just need to keep in mind that the threaded thumb screws are NOT used to secure the baffle to the hanger!! Their intended use is to secure the mount to a pole when you remove the hook. This way it is used as a baffle to keep squirrels away from the feeder when the baffle is mounted under the bird feeder. Otherwise, the baffle just rests on top of the plastic piece that the hook passes through. 2. The baffle is wide enough to provide rain protection from rain falling without a wind. If it is windy, all bets are off and the baffle acts like a sail to move the feeder around. Of course, it is always entertaining to watch birds still manage to land on the feeder while this is happening. Sort of like watching aircraft land on a carrier during a storm. 3. Easy to remove the feeder to fill from the hook. What I did not like as much: 1. The flat design seems to be more of a sail than the bell shaped domes. If you have a light weight feeder, say thistle, then there is a very good chance that the feeder and baffle will separate from the pole and wind up in the yard somewhere with possible damage to your baffle.Overall, it appears to be a good product and I would recommend it. Amazon does not allow 1/2 stars which is why this is a 4 star and not a 4.5 star rating.

Needs improvement
In the description for this item you will find "Clear weather shield..." It may be referring to being a shield during clear weather. The design will not protect against rain from directly above. The hook fits through the coupler on which the baffle sits. There is nothing to seal the coupler to prevent water from flowing through. On the contrary, the coupler with the hook in place acts more as a reservoir to capture rain and allow it to flow down on to the feeder below. We fixed this by cutting thick foam rubber and filling/plugging this space. Why do customers, such as myself, constantly have to 'fix' brand new products to get them to function in the proper manner?

Great weather cover for feeders
Great baffle to use as a weather cover for feeders. This is my second one for the snowy winters in upstate NY. It is large enough to cover a feeder and I like that it is clear so it doesn't block the view of the birds. I'm going to order a third one soon. Great product.

Really Baffles Squirrels!
This really works when used mid-post as a squirrel baffle. The baffle can move and tilt on the post mount, so a squirrel that jumps onto it is unceremoniously dumped on the ground. They can't get a grip on the smooth surface, so off they go!This would have gotten five stars except that the plastic weathers in the sun and heat of summer in the South. The first one lasted three years before a thump from a squirrel or the wind or something cracked it; this is my second. That comes out to about 70 cents a month for keeping squirrels out of the bird feeder.

Worked well for a year until shattered by snow
This baffle worked well for about a year until snow (that's snow, not ice) sliding off the roof hit the feeder and shattered the baffle. Maybe not the baffle's fault, but still an unwelcome event.I installed the baffle at the top of a five foot pole immediately below a pole mounted bird feeder. The baffle itself is attractive, easy to install (flexible mounting screws insure a secure fit on most any pole) and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the clear plastic is a magnet for various kinds of waste which substantially diminishes the esthetic appearance. The screw lock does not keep the baffle itself from shifting (a strong wind will usually tilt it a bit) but I actually figured that might be a good thing inasmuch as it would just make it that much hard for a squirrel to conquer it.

Works great!
The birds seem to appreciate the baffle that I have over the platform feeder helps to keep them dry as well as the seed to a certain extent. I was hesitant to get this at first after reading reviews. But it's sturdy and does not blow away even with high winds but I would guess that is partly due to the fact that the platform feeder is hefty as well.

Attractive and well-designed barrier
Attractive and works . . . most of the time. No fault of the design, but we have super smart squirrels here that figure out a way to overcome any barrier to the seed they love. It's worth the show watching them parse out a way to carom off a trunk or drop down and slide over the plastic barrier to snatch a paw on the feeder as they slide off at the last moment. I'm not complaining; it's a compliment to the hard working squirrels who are hungry, too, after all. I like this wide clear dome and the hook beneath that easily holds your feeder. Far more attractive than opaque covers or the metal guards on pole feeders (I have not tried mounting this on a pole). Not to mention it helps keep rain from soaking your seed if you mount above the feeder.
