Some of the flavours taste like medicine I would have been given as a child. I'm about half way through the jar but can't find which coloured beans are the offending flavours so I eat a small handful to mask any bad flavours. A good range of flavours, a lot of fruit flavours and things like liquorice, marshmallow, mint, coffee and cola. The flavours and distinct and in many cases identifiable and they are all pretty pleasant - no nasty surprises.I bought this as a gift for my daughter - she was very happy with this hefty tub - every little girls dream. I also sorted through to select some flavours for a 'taste quiz' which we did with my extended family on zoom after I posted out the jelly beans. It took a bit of setting up but it was a lot of fun. I chose flavours that I thought would be the most easily identifiable and we had about a 50% rate of correct identification which I thought was pretty good. Not all flavours are easily identifiable from the very tiny flavour chart on the side - a bit of guess work was involved.The only issue I had was that the lid is not secure and on more than one occasion it was picked up with the handle attached to the lid and the lid can off, allowing the jar to fall and many hundreds of beans to spill. What are handles for if not for picking up with? I noticed too late that to jump from 700g to 1.4kg was only £2.94 extra and the only different between them except the price is the container. In essence much of what you pay for in the listings lime this is the container, which is certainly pretty sweet for a gift, but not necessary if being bought for yourself or whatever.These are some terrific jelly beans too! They came well packed and presented and in a sturdy plastic jar with a great fitting lid. I liked pretty much all of the flavours but the Cinnamon was rather fiery and made my eyes water a little and the Mint was a welcome, if rather unexpected, surprise each time it was encountered; of course, this is all personal preference and, for me, apart from the two aforementioned delicacies the rest stayed flavoursome and sweet but neither overpoweringly so. The best before/use-by date was stated on the bottom of the jar as being March 2021 (approximately 19 months) giving even the slowest jelly bean munchers a chance to get through them.Overall, a decent amount of beans with great flavours and the perfect fancy packaging to be used as a present for a jelly bean connoisseur. As advised, if you are not fussed about the pristine jar and have the funds consider buying the size up from this one as it really is so much better value.
