Love this cat house!!
This is one of the best things I’ve bought for the cats. We have two outdoor/indoor cats and live out in the country. I needed a safe place for them to hang out when the dogs decide to get rude! lol. I also needed a raised area to put their food. This is PERFECT! Me and my 13 year old daughter put it together. It was really easy to do. Now, I did read reviews on it not being sealed for outdoor use. I’m not even going to wait for rain. We just went ahead and sealed it ourselves. The cats love it and the dogs don’t mess with it at all.

Great product. Great seller.
The seller really cares about their product, and it shows. They even sent me a HANDWRITTEN postcard thanking me. Did they ask me to make this review? Yeah. Would I have written this review otherwise? No. But they did not PAY me to write this review--as many sellers on Amazon do. You can't trust half the stuff on here.I got this house because I had to move my cat outdoors full time. That was for complicated behavioral reasons...but it is definitely for the best. (He's sweet as can be, but those behavioral reasons make it impossible for me to rehome him in good conscience.) I live in Sacramento, so our winters are mild (rarely freezes). Our summers are hot as hell, but dry and not humid. I figured that an outside-house like this would work well, especially because I was able to place it in a shady spot that will also be protected somewhat from rain.Even so, my main concern with this is that it holds up against the elements. The materials are good, but not heavy-duty, and I do not think they are all "weatherproof"--the roof is gonna siphon water off, but moisture will stiff affect the wood, and the sun here is gonna still hit this thing.Given the above, I went out and got a bunch of exterior paint and primer. Sanded and primed all the pieces, and painted the house to match my house. I also sprayed the roof with a layer of "FlexSeal." Overboard? Maybe. But I also bought a 3-level house for my CAT, so yeah. See pic.PS My cat stays in his house pretty much all day. He loves it. For when it gets cold in winter (again, it doesnt' freeze here), I drilled a hole in the bottom of the second storey "room" so I could run the pet heating pad I have plugged into a timer. That will make cold nights much easier. It's not "code," but the extension cord is outdoor-rated, and the house will keep everything else dry, so I am feeling good about this as a year-round shelter.

Sturdy. Requires sanding and sealing, not waterproof
I was REALLY unhappy when I first opened the package: the wood was covered in splinters and had just a very thin bit of paint, not waterproof at all. I'm using this as an indoor cat tree, so I just needed it to withstand the occasional hairball. It took me several days to lightly sand the whole thing and seal it with polycrylic minwax. A lot of unexpected work, but the result was worth it: it's EXTREMELY sturdy (far better than those cheaply-made fuzzy cat trees), very cute, and with some fluffy towels it's quite cozy. Some of the holes are too small for my elderly 14-lb cat, but the rest of my cats are just fine. I recommend dragging another piece of furniture next to the tree to provide a way up to the roof and to serve as an alternate way on/off the top floor so a bullying cat can't corner another cat up there. My cats weren't too thrilled about the tree at first (they're cats and it's expensive, so of course they have to put on a show of shunning it :P), and they still don't care about the cubbies, but they love sprawling on the open shelves when it's sunny.Tips:1) If you intend to use it as an indoor tree, be warned that the roof sheds little black grains. It's sort of an asphalt material, and no amount of brushing or dusting the loose grains off will ever make it stop. I coated it with Killz followed by a layer of polycrylic, and that worked beautifully: no more shedding, and it's smooth enough for my cats to enjoy sitting on the roof.2) The first step of the instructions is very difficult with only one person, and the roof is quite awkward to lift with just one person. The rest of the setup was shockingly easy, took about half an hour. Cordless drill helped a lot.3) The instructions suggest putting each piece in place then immediately drilling in the screws. Don't. Drill in the screws for the first couple steps so the base is sturdy, but after that, put almost everything else together *before* you start drilling in screws. Hard to explain, but it becomes almost impossible to wedge subsequent pieces in place if the previous steps are screwed in solidly.4) Instructions say to nail in the ceiling boards on the cubbies. If you do that, you won't be able to open up those compartments for cleaning.5) The screws all went in *really* nicely, but a few of the nails poked through in places, leaving a sharp point and splinters. I covered those over with a little hot glue. The pawprint holes are COVERED in splinters, but fortunately they face outwards, and are covered with glass from the inside, so your cats shouldn't come in contact with the splinters.

OMG! I love it. My cats Love it!
Finally, a cat house that won't have to be replaced in 6 months! I had been buying cat-trees at least every year, if not every six months. I figured this one -that is supposed to be used outdoors- will last more than any we've had before and by the looks and feel of it, I think it'll last a long, long time. It was easy to assemble and it came with all the hardware needed. I did purchase -also here in Amazon- three, dark gray, 28" x 28" sofa protectors to cover the surfaces I know my cats will use the most to nap. I originally used plush mats, but my cats like the sofa covers more. I know it is intended to be used outside, but it looks and works perfectly indoors and -after reading all the bad reviews about it not being weatherproof- I know it'll last us a lot longer this way. Love that it is actual wood, as I can always sand and paint whatever minor damage is caused by my cats. Totally worth the money, if used indoors!

Cat Tower
Easy to assemble. Looks really cute on my porch. My cats really won’t go through it, though. They jump up to eat and drink on the lowest shelf, but don’t really sleep in it.

Its good but it wasnt made with love
the pieces were not finished well, we had to sand almost every single piece and one didnt have the pilot holes for the dowels. Besides all that it is sturdy and the instructions are clear. i just feel like i payed enough money to get a better quality product. cat loves it! (but i have two cats and they dont like to share) if it were a like 50$ LESS EXPENSIVE i would definitely buy again
