Dental Cleaning Powder for Dog ✿ 100 G

My veterinarian recommended a brown algae based powder to help prevent plaque and I really wanted my dogs to like this product.It arrived packaged well and contained a convenient 2 gram scoop, the recommended dosing size for small dogs. It has an earthy herbal odor which may not appeal to all dogs. Directions say to start with a half dose and sprinkle it on moistened food once per day. My two small dogs are typically voracious speed-eaters but only one was willing to reluctantly eat it.I tasted a small amount of the powder myself and it has a fishy, salty sour taste which I found unpleasant.I plan to continue to use it and will try adding it to canned dog food which is a treat for our dogs.The label says to store the opened product at 20 degrees or lower which I assume is 68 degrees F or lower so I'm keeping it in the refrigerator.I am giving it 3 stars because, due to the odor and taste, I think some dogs will be unwilling to eat it, and eating it is the essential first step toward being effective for plaque prevention.If my dogs become accustomed to the taste and consume it willingly I will change my rating.

This dental cleaning powder helped my dogs breath some. It did take a little convincing to get her to eat the food with it in but she got use to it. This is a much better alternative than bringing your dog to the vet to put under to clean their teeth and scrape the tarter from their mouth. It not only helps with their breath but it helps them stay healthy. I also brush my dogs teeth each night to limit tarter/plaque build up.

I first ordered this type product a few months ago, different brand available. I was impressed with the performance and used it up. When it came available to test again, I tried this brand. Both have performed very well. I have been lax lately about brushing my dog’s teeth. I have never been as good about it as recommended but I always tried to do it at least 2-3 times a month. I haven’t been keeping up and noticed that she was developing a small spot of tartar on one of her teeth. I tried cleaning it a couple of times and it’s better but still there. So I ordered this. I've only had it a few days. This brand smells slightly minty and she seems to really love the flavour, no matter what kind of food it is mixed with. I just checked her breath and it’s quite nice, particularly for a dog! I would recommend this product, especially if you are not keeping up with brushing. I don’t use the powder every single day but I do add it to her breakfast a few times a week. If I did it every day the results would probably be even better. But I’m on a budget and have to stretch items where I can.

I really wanted this product to work based on the description and positive reviews, but unfortunately, it didn't work for my picky dog.The powder has a pretty strong scent. It's not necessarily unpleasant, but it's noticeable. My dog is quite picky with his food, so he might not represent the average dog.Given the amount of powder needed for it to be effective, and the fact that my dog wouldn't touch his food with it mixed in, I have to give this a neutral rating. It might work wonders for other dogs, but it just wasn't a good fit for us.

I’ve been giving this dental cleaning powder to my dog for about 2 weeks after using another brand. Her breath continues to stay fresh and tartar on her teeth doesn’t seem to get better or any worse. I add a scoop of powder to her food and she eats it up.

I really like this powder! It's so easy to use and I feel like with continued use it does help my dogs breath. I put it on top of my dog's food 1 time a day.

I've been using a teeth powder in my dog's food for a while but ran out so I tried this brand. He seems to notice it in his food. I only use a tiny amount since he's only five pounds so I'll keep trying to see if he will eat his food with this in it. Maybe he's just getting pickier about eating. It's hard to tell if these work, but it's made in the US so I feel better using it. I'll keep trying.

Already seeing the positive effect it is having on both of my dogs' teeth. The product is mixed into their dog food every evening and both dogs seem to not notice any taste difference while eating.
