What an amazing shovel! I purchased the plastic handle and carbon fiber shaft version and couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The shovel isn’t cheap but it is certainly worth the price. The size of the head makes it easy to dig full depth, the length of the shovel is perfect to carry, it’s super easy to use even in areas with heavy roots, the construction materials makes it very light yet durable and overall it is very functional. The only thing I dislike is that they painted the shovel head and the paint pealed away from the very start. I would rather have a non-painted version so it doesn’t look abused after the first few uses. I added a video for a demonstration of how easy it is to sink it full depth. Even without proper shoes.

If you are interested and on the fence about getting one just buy it. It is longer and lighter than my steel shovel, I took it straight out the day I got it, I didn’t need to get on my knees for about 1/2 of my targets. It is plenty tough, I put it all the way in the ground in heavy black wetish soil and pried it up, it did not stress the carbon fiber at all, should be a very long years use shovel. Well worth the money!

Fantastic shovel for metal detecting. This shovel is lightweight and digs easily into the ground. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

Works great but your foot barely fits on it to push down. However, you can be very accurate with this size so 2 would be ideal. This one and a bigger one.

Recently picked up metal detecting as a hobby & I gotta say this shovel has done well for me! Some of the paint chipped off while digging but it’s thick material, strong, sharp, & the perfect size. I’d recommend this shovel for metal detecting for sure!

Just got this shovel today haven't used it yet , looks like decent quality though the finish on the shovel head has a major chip on it and I've just read other reviews saying the finish is coming off pretty quickly ...why even put a finish on it ....otherwise looks like it will hold up pretty good.

Very lightweight. Works well cutting a plug in the grass on the Florida coast. Not sure it would work well in the Texas clay in summer.
