Cable Matters is a top-tier cable manufacturer
Cable Matters is a top-tier cable manufacturer. Each cable is even serialized. They take great pride in the craftsmanship and performance of their cables! Be sure to pay attention to hubs, monitors, and cables when it comes to HDMI! You want HDMI 2.1 for the current highest performance. Many devices just say, "HDMI" or 4K @ 60 HZ. Those are *not* HDMI 2.1 cables or gear!

Does exactly what it promises.
Works better than a straight HDMI to HDMI connection for me. My laptop has a HDMI 2.1 FRL port, my TV has an HDMI 2.1 port. Even when using an HDMI 2.1 cable. The best I could get when using a HDMI to HDMI was 30hz at 4k. My TV has a 120hz panel. Not sure why 30hz was the limit for HDMI to HDMI, but it wasn't going to do. So I bought this CableMatters USB-C to HDMI cable. My laptop has a USB 4 (type-C) port on it and USB 4 does most of the things that Thunderbolt can do, so I figured it was worth a shot. It works flawlessly. I'm able to get 4k/120Hz without any issues/drama, it just works. Just plug one end to the USB 4 (or TB 3/4 port if you have it), plug the other end to an HDMI 2.1 port, adjust your multi-monitor settings in Windows appropriately and if your TV supports it, you'll get 4k/120 (or better depending on your TV/monitor) as a default option in your display settings. Going HDMI-to HDMI for whatever reason wouldn't get me that. So I'm quite happy with the performance of the cable. This isn't the cheapest cable you're going to come across, but it's easy to use (it's a cable not a particle accelerator), and should work with either Thunderbolt or USB 4 or even older USB standards (with reduced functionality due to slower bandwidth). No complaints here. This cable would be a fine addition to anyone's laptop bag.

Used to Connect Monitors to a M4 Mac Mini
The new M4 Macs have gone to mainly USB C ports. The problem is that USB C or Thunderbolt monitors are much more expensive with fewer options than HDMI monitors. So I took a chance on these cables since it gave me a lot more options for using my old monitors or buying new monitors. They worked great. The Mac recognized the dual monitor setup right from startup with the right resolution. I haven’t pushed the capabilities of the cables with gaming or high resolution picture editing, but so far so good for an overall cheaper solution to USB C computer ports.

Macbook 4k at 120hz + 144hz
After updating the firmware (simple, but can only be done on a Windows PC), my MBP M4 Max can do 4k 120hz or 144hz on two external monitors, as well as the internal display. Worked great, but wish it didn't need the firmware step.

Good cable. Better throughput than others
Noticed an improvement in throughput compared with other usb-c cables. Gives a bit better performance with file transfers using SAMSUNG T5 SSDs.

Must have for MacOS
I had a hard time finding a 4k 120hz thunderbolt cable for my MacBook Pro M1 Pro. By default it can only do 4k 60hz with HDR but if you update the cable firmware via the companies Windows(PC or VM) updater, you gain the ability to do 4k 120hz but with no HDR. While I would prefer a 4k 120hz mode with HDR, it’s easy enough to change modes in the system settings so I can watch hdr content at 4k 60hz when my MacBook is plugged into a monitor. As a nice treat, I’m also able to get 4k 120hz through the thunderbolt port on my Anker 778 hub even though it mentions the 4k 60hz is the max allowed connection on their website.

Doesn't work
This cable doesn't work. I have it connected to a Hisense TV using the HDMI 2.1 & a USB4 port on a miniPc with integrated GPU. I updated all of the drivers. Any help would be appreciated.

4k 120hz on bootcamp to LG G4 tv
first of all, this cable immediately recognized the correct resolutions, which was huge, but it was stuck at 4k60, I tried installing the thunderbolt driver and eventually used the CableMatters website driver (windows) and the “VMMrwin” or whatever is definitely being utilized over USB 3 in the bottom right. Removed bootcampdrivers with DDU and installed the AMD ones for bootcamp from their website. Somehow it started working after I tried enabling HDR on windows first. Happy with 4k120hz
