Solid batteries, powerful and truly fast charging....not much heat generated implys the cells are not being damaged..
Very impressive...I havent used a battery charger for a good few years, what with batteries being built in to a lot of electronic goods these days.... but I had cause to need a steady supply of AA batteries since Ive got into Radio Controlled aircraft..I remember AA chargers needing to be left over night to charge, and their performance being rather lacking once they were (ie half the life of a Duracell or other good brand of disposable AA).Well, I discharged these by putting them in a cheap toy radio controlled car I bought for the purpose, and letting my 5 year old cousin loose with it for the day (they seemed to come at least partly charged? I wanted to charge them from 'empty' first to try them out)Suffice to say, they did indeed charge within the hour....no drama, didnt even get particularly hot (though did of course warm up!) and all contained in a nice attractive and quality looking and feeling unit (as if that mattered, but it does look cool as far as a utilitarian object such as this goes!).Its an 'Intelligent' charger, so it doesnt have to be watched like a hawk (as a couple of my Lipo 'non intelligent' ones do! Chargers that are getting replaced ASAP as they are just too scary!) adn ti charges the batrteies one at a time...with alight above each signifying it is complete..ti also detects abd cell apaprently..thogh lukily I have nto ahd cause ot try otu this feature yet.The batteries that are included are high spec and powerful; and have lasted a good 15 hours of usage in my RC TX..which rates AA to last 10 to 15 hours of usage...I cant yet speak for their long term life, as Ive only had them a couple of weeks...but I see no reason why they wont last the rated amount of charging cycles.I will almost certainly be getting another set...they arent the cheapest on the market, but as most of us know, there are many things that are not worth skimping, batteries being one of them in my opinion, as cheapo generic batteries will only lead to a false economy, either ultimately costing more in the long run, or simply not achieving a satisfactory level of performance....thus I would say these are well worth the price asked. In fact are a good deal at the price, when compared to some of the other deals on top brands....namgin no names btu soemof whom only incude 2 high spec batteries in some of their quad charger packages!

Great charger, I should know I've bought four over many years.
I have purchased three of these previously. I have probably a higher useage than most, I may be charging 8 sets of 4x2800mAh batteries every week. The last charger developed a fault after it was used when the ambient air temp was 32C, the batteries get very warm when charging, on this occasion almost too hot to handle, a popping noise was heard from the charger. Concerned I inspected the charger, identified it was glue holding some of the components on the pcb which appears to have bubbled from the excess heat. Becareful of overheating, On warm days I now point a small desk fan at the charger to help dissipate excess heat. The previous chargers after significant use over several years have gone faulty, (last one lasted 2.5years) indicating bad cells when cells are known to be good.Still didn't stop me buying another charger of the same type. I know they work well, they are easy to use, small and compact for when travelling. The batteries included are very good also.I'll stick to something that works well for me.

Does what is says
Does exactly what it says on the tin, infact it charged the batteries quicker than the 1 hour time frame at 48 minutes! Energizer have proven to be a trust worthy brand as I still after 8 years have there basic 1300Mah batteries and basic charger and all still work. I decided to upgrade to the larger batteries and faster charger and it hasn't disappointed me so far. Word of warning the batteries can get quiet warm when charging and it's normal. The blinking light can make a very small click sound so don't panic about that.
