DESCRIPTION:This is a 6-pack of 5 micron 10"x2.5" foam type water filter cartridges.————————HOW I USE THEM:We are using these to filter both hot and cold water supply to a whirlpool bathtub. We have well water with a significant amount of iron. The tub cannot have any iron introduced, as the constant agitation of the water pump oxidizes the iron and causes a orange-tinted foam to appear on top of the water, and remain as a ring on the tub. So we have placed one filter on the hot supply, and one on the cold supply just before the tub.We have a large whole-house 5 micron filter and water softener system ahead of these, so these are used just to catch any residual iron remaining in the piping and the water heater, leftover in the system prior to the installation of the whole-house filter. These also serve as a backup in the event any iron gets past the whole-house filter.ABOUT HOT WATER USE:Our hot water supply is 140F.These filters are rated for 125F max.The Culligan housing is rated for 100F max, and is marked as not rated for hot water service.In our application, hot water only flows through the filter/housing for a few minutes when hot water is drawn for the tub. 99% of the time the filter and housing are at room temperature in the cool basement. The filter/housing are only hot briefly and intermittently, and never at a sustained high temperature; so we consider this a reasonable use.————————PLUS POINTS:The cartridges are individually wrapped to keep them clean.The cartridges fit as expected into our Culligan WH-5200-C brand housings.The filters do catch any iron.————————MINUS POINTS:No issues.————————OVERALL:Very pleased with these filters, they perform at least as well as the string-wound type.

BLUERISE 5 Micron 10 x 2 ½ I get these filters to replace the first filter in my 5 stage under sink reverse osmosis system. They fit perfectly. The 5 micron filter acts as kind of a pre-filter for the later filters, like the 1 micron filter that is next in line. The one micron would simply fill up way too quickly without this filter. We live in the high desert in mining country, and our water is blessed with lots of minerals, some of which reach visible size. We need to replace the 5 micron filter much more often the other filters. These BLUERISE filters are wider than most of the 5 micron filters I have used. This could possibly indicate that they have a higher volume, and will last a bit longer. They are also denser than many other similar filters. I would recommend the BLUERISE 5 micron for quality and value for money. A visit to the BLUERISE web page finds a variety of items for the home from exercise equipment to pet feeding stations. It is not just a water filter store.
