This jacket was a revelation for farm work. Totally waterproof, seemingly immune to barbed wire (which has killed all my previous waterproofs), and although not officially breathable allows me to work hard without suffering that "boil in the bag" effect.I have been using the jacket for more than four years, now, and it is still undamaged and functioning perfectly, chasing sheep around the Welsh hills. No duct tape patches as yet. Although it is not lined in the normal sense, the waterproof coating is bonded to an open weave fabric, which means no clammy, plastic-feeling inner, however hard the rain. I have tried many jackets over the years, and this beats them all by a big margin, even the expensive so called breathable ones. It is also very lightweight. And ideal for the non-fashion conscious hill walker. Who cares what it looks like if it keeps you dry inside? For me, this is as close to perfection as a waterproof can be.
