Excellent product!
Recently reviewed Sea Castle sardines (currently unavailable), positively, comparing this brand to Matiz (España). Must say that, even when Sea Castle is again available ($0.70 less per tin), might stick with Matiz. Three nicely sized, meaty, freshly-caught sardines per tin in delicious pure olive oil (not sure if "virgin", manufacturer does not specify). The Matiz tin does require a bit of an effort to open, but that is easily solved using an inexpensive Chef's Star electric can opener (or any similar opener), which also avoids messy oil sprays. Tasty, healthy snack with olives, Manchego cheese and saltines.

Delicious and great quality
This brand is so good! The sardines are large and meaty and have a great flavor. They go great with crackers and a touch of soy sauce or hot sauce. They’re also great to take on a day hike or camping.

Most delicious sardines ever
Matiz sardines are simply the best and just as advertised ... “plump, tender texture, and rich flavor.” Absolutely scrumptious.

Restaurant quality
A top-notch seafood restaurant in Seattle uses Matiz for their signature sardines dish. We gave them a try at home - they are delicious there are always 3-4 large sardines per tin. Matiz is more expensive and harder to find than other brands in our area, so this 12 pack is a great value to stock up on.

I've loved sardines since I've been eating solid food
These are just great sardines. I was weaned on grocery store sardines in mustard. My grandpa loved them.. I loved my grandpa.. and thus I loved sardines. I'm now almost my grandpas age and I've experimented with a number of different sardines...sans mustard. I ordered the five top rated brands and these won. I was at first put off by their size. These are huge... as sardines go. On the other hand, they are so mild and delicious. I just realized I'd eatem my last tin tonight and had to order more. My HDL was 93 and I was asked by a nurse what my secret was. Sardines, walnuts, and white bean and ham soup. These are very good for you in addition to being very yummy.

Very Good But Pricey and Scales
These taste good, except there are scales left on the fish, which I don't like. I've never eaten Sardines where the scales are still on. I liked them, but thought they were overpriced. Will stick with Bumblebee.

Great product, problems with delivery
We waited three weeks for delivery - I think it was the carrier's fault & not the vendor. When it finally arrived, two cans were damaged & leaking oil. They seem fine but it's a concern. The vendor communicated well & I can't really fault them. As for the product: it's wonderful! Delicious sardines, well worth the price. I'll probably order again but if I have problems with delivery again, I'll update this review.

The best sardines ever!
I've eaten a fair amount of sardines so when I decided to finally try Matiz Gallego, I wanted to see what the fuss was about. These sardines are pretty superb. The texture is not as firm as Wild Planet, but it's also not mushy. The salt content is just right and the scales are not bothersome. I would give these sardines to a first timer who never had sardines with the bones, roe, skin, and scales. They don't have a fishy aftertaste and they don't have a smell upon opening the tin. These are a really great tin of sardines.

Excellent product. Best sardines we have had yet!

No rancid oil taste like most have, though perhaps a hint of soap taste? Probably would have been much better with salt and pepper. A few very large sardines, but pleasant (as opposed to the weird insect-like ones from Brunswick)

Not worth buying these expensive sardines

Je croyais avoir plus pour le montant suggéré!! Trop petite quantité (1 seule boîte de sardine 120gr) pour 13$.
