Black Wired USB Keyboard Both Languages JAPANESE and ENGLISH Bilingual Keyboard

I have not used the keyboard yet! I bought it as a gift for my girlfriend since she's taken a couple classes and wants to be able to practice on the computer a little bit. But it arrived very promptly and undamaged. The keys are printed on very clearly, the letters and Japanese characters pop very well and everything is easily distinguished. I took Russian classes in college and at the time, I bought some stickers for my keyboard to incorporate the Cyrillic alphabet in my typing, but they didn't last long and were annoying to set up. This is a much cleaner solution.I opened the box to see if it came with instructions (since I suspect she'll need help setting it up) and I found them, they seem fine but they also look like they've been translated from another language rather than typed in English (so things are worded a little strangely, but understandable). Also, it covers installation up to Windows 8, but not Win10, so it needs updated. I know the process is similar, but Windows 10 changed the language installation options a lot, so to a less informed user it may be very tricky.I'll try to update the review once we've set it up and she's used it a little.

I had purchased this keyboard, as displayed in the product image, many years ago and have used it quite often. It just so happened that I needed to purchase another one to replace the old one due to age and use. I purchased two of them and found that the new ones have a different design than the old, where the space bar is curved on the bottom of the keyboard of the old keyboard, on this new keyboard the space bar is perfectly straight, and the keyboard itself is not as "robust" looking. Regardless of the sleek design, the functionality remained the same, and setting up the keyboard was as easy as unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one. There was nothing more to do than that. All kana keys work well with the Microsoft Windows IME, and special key functions function as designed. And the keys are a little softer to press than the old keyboard. Despite the change in design, I am satisfied with the purchase.

Yes, the board has JN chararcters, but not all the keys are as they are printed on the board. Some are still located as it would be on an American board; therefore, JN characters that are not, can't be used while composing an e-mail. Very unfortunate.

Excellent value

This keyboard works great. The keys are easy to use and I was pleasantly surprised with how similar it was to the standard american layout. It took me a while to figure out how to write in Hiragana and Kana and Katakana but once I figured it out all was good. I recommend this to anyone that plans to type in Hiragana Katakana and Kana whether they be a native speaker, a student, a teacher, what have you as this is a wonderful keyboard to add to your collection.
