Cleaning Scrub Brush for Cast Iron Skillet Pots Pans

Two little blasts from the past.
These brushes are so low-tech I can imagine them in the hands of a scullery maid in eighteenth century London. The wood handles are turned from white oak. They arrived in my kitchen, unfinished and natural. The coconut fiber bristles are also natural and surprisingly stiff and hard and cut straight across to give the brush a flat face that is very aggressive. I oiled the handles of mine with olive oil, and one turned out as light as bee, and the other as dark as caramel. They look so nice, sitting side-by-side on my stone counter ledge at the back of my kitchen sink, I was almost reluctant to use them, but I bought them for a purpose, and they work great for cleaning cast iron and hammered steel. I don't use any Teflon, but if I did, I don't think I'd clean it with these babies; they might strip the PTFE right off the aluminum. In my kitchen their main purpose is to scour iron and steel before I paint on a fresh coat of olive oil, and for that they're perfect. I'd recommend them to anyone who likes to cook with oiled cast iron.

great alternative to plastic scrubbers
I bought these scrubbers as an alternative to plastic scrubbers. They work great. Cleans even tough stuck-on food without scratching the pan. The brushes arrive looking pretty, well crafted and well made. I've been using one for several months, though the varnish has worn off, it still works very well. The 2 should last a year or more. They do require some care. Do not leave soaking in the dishwater. After use, hang up by the string or set them out to dry. This will greatly increase their useful life.

Good scrub brushes
Product arrived on time and as advertised. I intend to use these specifically for cleaning some of my baking proofing baskets and cast iron pans. I've only had them for a week so I can't speak to the long-term sturdiness or durability but so far the bristles have proven to have the right balance of stiffness and flexibility for their intended use. I think they'll work well for me and having two of them for the price is great value.

Strong bristles, tightly packed, proper orientation
I've used different kinds of scrubber brushes over the years. WISH brushes do a great job of getting things clean without leaving scratch marks. I use them on my non-stick pans and to scrape burned bits off the bottom of pots, etc. They're perfect for that. Now for the key design advantage: the bristles are dense and they all face down. While this means the brushes take a while to break in, this is what you want if you expect your brushes to last a long time. What happens with other designs—where the bristles aren't tightly packed and come out at angles—is that they start flattening out as you use them more. WISH brushes should hold together well for quite some time. We'll see.. but good initial impressions.

Great for dogs too!
I'm using these for something odd - as a fluffing brush for my show dog's legs. Before going in the show ring, I like to fluff his leg fur up to give a nice full look, and didn't want to spend $15 on a small brush made for dogs. This was a nice 2 pack, and they're a perfect palm-size. The bristles are tough, not gentle....but perfectly fine for brushing the hair on a dog's legs. It seems the more you play with it the softer the bristles get, but still stiff. I imagine they'd be perfect for fruits/veggies too ;) Really nice, love the size and shape is very user friendly.

Perfect Scrubber
I've been slowly getting rid of as much plastic as I can. After seeing the ocean full of plastic and that whale with hundreds of pounds of it in his gut, which killed him, I said to myself "Enough!" I grew up with scrubbers like these! I can get at every crevice in every pot with no problem. The second one I use to scrub vegetables. They look like they'll hold up for a long, long time, but when their time is up, I'll be able to just toss them into the compost! Thanks for selling these!

Good little brushes
I got these to use on my cast iron skillet. They do a good job and they're nice looking. I took one star off because they did shed a bit the first couple of times I used them, but they are fine now. For the price you can't beat it.

I love these scrubbers
The shape of these scrubbers makes them easy to use; they even have a loop you can stick your thumb through to sorta attach it to you hand while you're working. This is helpful if you have any grip issues. I also really liked the fact that the bristles are stiffer and more robust than any plastic scrubber I've ever used - so they get the job done more efficiently. Most of all, though, I love that these are completely natural fiber and zero waste. I'll definitely buy them again!
