BWT in-line Drinking Water Filter Kit DWFKIT

Our water in North Somerset is so scaly and if left in a bottle or glass for longer than about 20 minutes starts to really taste bad and stink.I had been meaning to get one of these kits but basically bottled it because of drilling through a hard sink like ceramic.Eventually I bought a diamond dry drill bit, 12mm, layered some duct tape and took the hole out in one, no pilot and no removing the top layer first.It took me over and hour to fit but that was because access under my sink was quite busy and reaching the tap secure nut involved contorting my self to get my had near it, plus the fact I had to attach a spanner to it blind.I only put PFTE tape on the tap thread itself and nothing leaked.Once thing that I find mental and I’m glad people mentioned it on Amazon…is that after piercing the copper pipe the manual tells you to leave the piercing mech all the way home….and never tells you otherwise. This is mental because then no water will come out, so you need to loosen off the piercing piece before water will flow from the tap, but of course do this at the end once you are happy everything is hooked up.Noting the same as others, the tap does feel pretty high quality and aside from how difficult your sink area is, it really is a piece of cake to install.

Great product from BWT. installed in less than one hour following very simple instructions . Everything works as it should . Just need to remember to get a replacement filter every six months or so . Cartridges are much cheaper in screwfix . No leaks and very clear water without chlorine taste .

Pleased with my purchase, looks good when fitted and no more limescale in the kettle!

We installed this filter because we are in a very hard water area, which means constantly scaled up kettle etc. The instructions say run water for a couple of minutes until cold water flows, this is now an unacceptable waste of expensive water and filter cartridges. Back to de-scaling kettle.

Great kit easy to install and works great.Had taste of chlorine in normal tap water.After fitting filter water tastes better and no smell or taste of chlorine.Good value for money.

This is a decent, if basic, under-sink water filter, but overall I'm slightly disappointed. While I've conducted no scientific tests of water quality, from the smell/taste alone it appears to do a good job of removing coliforms. But the filtered water still has a distinct chlorine smell/taste - far stronger than the water produced by the Franke filter it replaced, although obviously not as strong as the unfiltered mains. If removing chlorine is one of your main objectives, then my advice is look elsewhere.
