Up-to-date PCs (especially laptops) do not tend to have VGA ports, so if you need to use one - as I do, with an older projector - then you need an adapter. This is a good choice.It's simple and fuss free, with a pretty short cable. There are the usual screw holes to attach firmly to the VGA cable (another review said that it doesn't have these, but mine does?!) - that's important to me, because doing a presentation when the heavy cable falls from the socket and gives you a blank screen is not fun.The build quality is high - much higher than those I've used before - and the aluminium casing and braided cable both give the impression of something that will last. It really does feel much better made. If you need to carry it for work or travel that's especially nice.Do check, of course, that your computer has a suitable port for running a display over USB-C! But if it does, this is a great adapter.

New laptops are all well and good - slim, light, sleek, portable - but one thing they're lacking in is ports. These days you're lucky if you've got a couple of "old" USB ports, a couple of USB Cs, an HDMI and an ethernet, but if you use more than one monitor you can be a bit stuck. On my desk I have two monitors which I plug into my laptop - one uses HDMI, and the other an older VGA connector, so of course my laptop is missing a VGA port. Rather than buy a new monitor, this adaptor is a great alternative. Simply plug it into a spare USB C port (remove the rubber protective cap first), then plug your VGA lead into the port on the adaptor, and that's it - no drivers, no configuration needed, it just works. It would be nice if the adaptor had screw holes next to the VGA port so that you could fasten the plug to it using the screws they always seem to have, but they're not really needed. Small and light enough to just pop into your laptop bag, this is a great little thing to have.

If you need to use an old vga monitor at hand, then the Elebase vga to usb-c adapter might be you. As long as your display port is thunderbolt 3/4 then you can connect it to this and to your external vga monitor. Be aware however that the adapter has a 1920x1080 limit and not all monitors (especially older ones), may not support it. So you may need to select a slightly lower resolution for optimal effect.Note that: not every laptop, or even modern ones have a display port, please check your unit first before you plug it in to make sure it is a thunderbolt/display port!Pros: Easy to use and carry, should work on most displayport powered usbc/thunderbolt 4 outputs.Cons: Might not work on very old monitors that cannot display 1920x1080.

Got this to enable me to connect an old screen with no HDMI port to a Mac mini.Works well, with no flickering or interference. Very happy with this adapter.

These are great for any video devices such as monitors and projectors where you require the old style plain VGA connection. Not many devices are around nowadays but comes in handy with someone who has older equipment. The unit itself doesn't have a length of cord built in so carry a decent size plain VGA cable with it to connect. The resolution is pretty limited to the device you're connecting to it so you might not see higher resolution that you're used to seeing on newer monitors and projectors.
