Love these for all kinds of things
The best use I've actually found for these are under carpets to keep them in place, and if they're not sticking to the backside of the carpet, you just put some duct tape on the carpet and then they really stick down like glue to a hard surface. When they get dirty or if you want to move the carpet, you wash them in the sink with plain old water and find a thin edge somewhere to "hang" them to dry. (I have a wire dish drainer and it's great to put them on the edge of that because they come up easily and completely dry everywhere.) They're supposed to be for in the car tho, and they work for that, too, although after several months on a dash in melting SoCal summer sun, they will get sticky in a bad way instead of the way they're supposed to maintain. In the winter months, tho, they maintain just fine on a dash and will keep glasses, phones, or other items from sliding onto the floor as you drive. I've also cut these down and used them to stick small lights and other not-too-heavy items to the wall so it doesn't leave a mark when you take them off. These are very useful for so many things you just want to stay in place.

Reliable, No Slip, Grippy, Silicone Pads
I've used these types of silicone pads for years. They always work well for keeping your phone in place during sudden stops. I like to keep spares on hand. While I do not have long term experience with these particular pads, similar ones I've used can and will leave a mark on a plastic dash. If that is a negative to you, just keep an eye on your dash. Remove it if that starts to happen. In my case, it's not a big deal.
