Yes, it is double edged, if you mean, beveled on both the inside and outside of the cutting edge. This is unlike traditional Japanese knives beveled on one side of the cutting edge and flat on the opposite side. If you mean double edged like a Roman sword, then no, it is flat across the spine.

I'll do it for you. It's a perfect knife for chopping and slicing. The 6" is also small enough for peeling. If you think you're a "chef", buy a knife that's more expensive so you can show it off to your friends at dinner parties. If you're a cook, this knife is the one to get.

how does it handle cutting bones and meat?

You can certainly use the 6" Wusthof Chef's knife for meat--and even bones--but for large bones, I would suggest a knife with a larger, heftier blade.
