073131 Impeller Fits for Pentair Whisperflo 3 HP Pumps Pool and Spa Pump

After wasting an entire day struggling to re-assemble three screws on my rebuilt pool pump, I finally chucked up the impeller on a bolt in my drill press and setup a dial gauge to measure the run out. I measured the run out on the 9 yr old warped heat damaged worn impeller (0.02”) and this new impeller (0.055”). Over 2.5x the runout on this new part vs the wobbly impeller I was replacing! That’s egregious. This thing is so warped the motor shaft binds up once the cone part is forcibly installed over this impeller. Further, the impeller dimensions axially along the shaft were wrong as well. The factory reverse threaded screw would not reach the motor shaft threads when installed with the factory gasket and this new impeller. The manufacturer has epically failed on the two dimensions of any importance. Save yourself the aggravation and delay and potential damage to your shaft seal. DO NOT BUY THIS PART. I’ll return this defective part on my way to the pool store where I will overpay for a Pentair impeller that will work.

Bought Kevin March of this year…..already have replace it. Pool guy said, “The impeller broke and seized up the motor.” Great….

Fit was correct and seemed right(not cheap feeling) but once it was installed we realized it’s way off alignment(wobble if spun slowly). I don’t think it’s going to last long before destroying something but I’m currently using it in a pinch. Will update after a month or so.
