Gagana Samoa: A Samoan Language Coursebook

Fabulous book - easy learning
Great book!I wanted to learn a language of the Pacific islands. After some research, it seems Samoan has a considerable amount of speakers compared with some of the other Oceanic languages. I originally considered Hawaiian but soon realised that there are very few speakers left of the language and there are free resources.Samoan, on the other hand, is still very much alive and there are some lovely Samoan songs out there, Samoan radio stations and news websites to practice with.Samoan is a beautiful language - one that the natives must keep alive and be very proud of.This book is a very nice introduction to the language and it sets out grammar and new vocabulary logically making learning the language a breeze - and I am a language teacher and language course writer so can say this with confidence.I also find that, with the little Samoan I have learnt, I am able to understand a considerable amount of other pacific languages - particularly the Tokelauan songs I listen to which are incredibly similar to Samoan. It's such a beautiful language - I think everyone should be speaking it!

Samoan for beginners?
Good book but I think a CD to go along with it would be more helpful.
