Complete Sourdough Starter Kit, Banneton Bread Proofing Basket

I literally cannot obsess more over this kit!! If you are a beginner or just starting on your sourdough journey, you NEED this. The jar is amazing for your starter. I typically make 300g of starter at a time and this jar holds all of it perfectly. I also love that the jar comes with a cover that isn’t air tight. The tools are also great quality. I have had no issues with any of them - however, if you are wanting to do intricate designs on your breads, you may need to get a different lame (the blade part). Everything is easy to clean, the products are all easy to use, and the kit is an amazing price. Lastly, I love the proofing basket - just be sure to clean it in between uses. I just wash it in the sink and it goes back to looking brand new again. Regardless of your experience - everyone should get this kit!

This has been one of my best purchases! I use most of the pieces regularly when making sourdough. Well made and much cheaper than buying each piece individually. A necessity if you are starting out in sourdough!

Have used everything in this kit. Just a note the cup is smaller than I expected. Ordered a bigger one but everything else is great. Provides everything you need to jump on the sourdough bandwagon.

This is an excellent kit with everything you need to start your sourdough journey. Also at a very good price point if you have ADHD and will only use it briefly before storing it away with the rest of your short lived hobby ideas. I enjoyed using it but also don’t feel guilty I haven’t used it to start my own cottage bakery from home yet.

I have never made Sourdough and thought this would be the perfect kit to get and in fact it was. It really came with everything I needed to start. The only thing that it didn't come with was the Dutch Oven but I knew that when I bought it. I actually appreciate that because then I could pick out the kind (color, size, shape) that I wanted AND because Sofie (that is what I named my starter) takes 7 days to be ready I have 7 days chose which one I want. I would recommend this kit for everyone but there are a couple of things I would have liked to see. The instructions are great but written kind of small. The pamphlet that is used has a shine to it and when the light is turned on there is a glare so it made it a little difficult to see. There is no instructions on how to maintain the starter dough once it is completed. Both of these reason are in no way taking away how Wonderfull anything is in the package is, theses are just my opinions. Packaging was amazing nothing broken, bent or scratched.

Some of it I liked, some it I don't like, if you're new to making bread in general and starting sour dough, it's an awesome kit. I have made bread several times before and I've found the basket and the cloth cover to be a hassle and have used it twice. It dries out the rising bread too much, giving the top a crust that's annoying. I've never used the silicone mat, have never felt the need to. Everything else is awesome. Especially the dough whisk, don't know what I've done without it. While I don't use the recipe it gives or the instructions, it was very useful to refer to when I first started sour dough. I still think the kit is worth getting wherever you are at in sourdough making, if you don't have singles of these tools, but for me personally the basket and mat are pretty useless, the rest I love and use regularly for bread and other baking.

This kit took the guesswork out of getting started — having everything included (starter, jar, tools) meant I wasn’t piecing together supplies from five different places before I could even begin. Instructions were clear enough for a first-timer to follow without feeling overwhelmed by all the sourdough terminology and steps you see online. The jar/container made it easy to track feeding schedules and rise progress without needing to improvise with random kitchen containers. Starter came alive and active within the expected timeframe, no issues getting it going. Great starter kit if sourdough has felt intimidating — this made the whole process approachable instead of a multi-week science experiment gone wrong.

Recently got back into home bread making, so I got this set. It’s been great!! Everything you need is included. I especially love the temperature sticker for the starter jar that goes from black to color based on the room temperature. The feeding band is also fantastic, as it has labels for each day and notches notating the time in three hour increments. The bowl scraper is a bit stiff for my personal preference, but this allows it to double as a bench scraper to cut the dough. The bench scraper that’s included has a handle, making it easy to hold and use. The silicone brush is a bit small, but I love that the whole thing is silicone, rather than a wooden handle. And the long, silicone spatula is a game changer for feedings!! I store all the additional items in the bowl and cover it with the fabric cover (minus the starter jar), so that everything stays together, and I can grab everything when I’m ready to use it. Please note that the shape is for making a boule, not a batard. Lastly, the danish dough whisk— I don’t know how I’ve gone this long without one. I remember using them in culinary school years ago, but never had one for personal use until now. This one is super sturdy and easy to use. The only downside is that it does have a wooden handle. (I personally hand wash all tools with wooden handles and ensure that they’re dried thoroughly, as the spot the wood is attached to the tool is typically a place that harbors bacteria and mold.)
