Watch This... [FOUR STARS]
One would think that with a smart phone in every person’s pocket that wristwatches would have become extinct. But if I’m working with tools, my hands are full, and I need to know the time right NOW, dropping what I’m doing to fumble with my smart phone is a pain. Alternately, I’m sometimes driving and the intense sunlight washes out the display on the “infotainment” center, rendering the clock unreadable. In either case, a wrist watch can give me that information with a quick, hands-free glance. Plus, I actually prefer analog displays for time.Yeah, I could get a smart watch (I even reviewed one on Vine some time back) but they tend to be expensive, you need to install an “app,” and it’s another gizmo to have to keep charged. Nah... there’s something to be said for a plain, basic, daily-wear, men’s watch like this one from BOSHIYA.The seller describes this as a “...unisex military watch...” and indeed, its form suggests that aesthetic. The face is a pleasant, off-white, no-nonsense analog scale with both 12 and 24-hour markings. Digits are prominent and easy-to-read,even without reading glasses. The face features two windows for mechanically-displayed day and date. The hands are black, the hour and minute hands are striped with luminous ink, the second-hand carries a dot of glow-ink on its tip.The watchband is an olive-drab synthetic material, that won’t absorb sweat and it won’t dry-rot. Unlike bands that attach solely to the ends of the watch body, this band wraps through the anchors, meaning a strip of watchband lies between your skin and the zinc-alloy back of the watch. For me, this feature is neither here nor there, but if you have a skin sensitivity to metal watch bodies, this can actually be advantageous.Do I like this watch? Yes, I’m quite happy with it, and while I secured this through Vine for review purposes, I’d have been equally pleased if I had actually spent the 10 bucks the seller is asking for it. So... why not five stars? A few reasons...The strap is cool... kind of tacti-cool, but I do wish it was a half-inch longer. I’m a tall man with proportionately-large wrist bones, so I can’t really buckle it beyond the first three holes. There’s not enough of the free end of the strap left to engage positively with the keepers, and so the end sometimes comes undone. As I indicated, the hands are painted with luminous paint, and if you “charge” the paint with a bright LED flashlight, the hands glow impressively... for a short while. Ten minutes later, the glow has decayed to the point of unreadability. This is something of a disappointment to me. You would think that after a day of working outdoors in bright desert sunlight, you might enjoy a couple of hours of dial glow in the evening... no.One other thing: The seller first claims that this watch is “waterproof,” (supposedly water-tight to 30 meters!) then backsteps and describes it as “water resistant,” followed by a recommendation not to wear the watch swimming, bathing or showering. Now, it would not be my nature to tempt fate and purposefully wear any watch into water, but something doesn’t add up here. 30 meters is nearly 100 feet, and water pressure at that depth is roughly three times normal atmospheric pressure. If the watch was indeed “waterproof” to that depth, it’s difficult to imagine how immersion in 12-inches of bathtub water or even four feet of pool water could leak into the watch. My guess is that the watch is really not “waterproof,” but probably includes some token O-rings to keep sweat and raindrops out of the clockworks. We’ll see how this thing survives day-to-day use, and if it fails, I’ll likely return to amend my review. For now, I’m basically satisfied and feel comfortable giving this a solid four stars. Understand its limitations and for ten bucks, you will not be disappointed.

Nice watch for the price
You will be hard pressed to find a field watch for $20 that is "better" than this one. Right out of the box, it just feels like they put some time and effort in to making the best watch they could for the price point. The case is all metal and has a nice grey finish with a hint of bronze coloring in the right light. The cream colored dial with black indices looks fantastic with the green nato strap. As it is with many quartz watches, even expensive ones, the second hand does not line up perfectly with the indices. Pretty standard fare and it does not bother me. The movement keeps time as well as any other inexpensive quartz watch (well within +/- 30 sec per month) and is hackable. I did notice that when setting the day/date the crown stiffens up and takes more effort to turn. Not an issue at all, it's just none of my other watches do that and I thought it was interesting. The lume functions as expected for an inexpensive watch, charge it for a few seconds with a flashlight and you get about 20 mins of lume. Overall I think this is a great, functional watch that looks fantastic and is an excellent value for the money.

Love it.
Comfortable and good-looking. So comfy and light, I forget I'm wearing it.It's a very simple style and it's easy to read. Seems to keep fairly accurate time.
