Backdrop:I do a lot of wooden & drilling work - where not just to size the wood, but also to trim the edges - I need a good chisel. I do have an old chisel - which wasn't being able to do justice to this lately. So, thought of getting a fresh one. Now, I knew that procuring it from local market will be cheaper (well - who needs a brand name for a chisel?). But after running through a few hardware stores - I could find that they sell the chisel & the chisel handle separately & more or less a standard 3/4 was costing me around Rs. 70 (with the plastic handle - which needs to be warmed & then you need to insert the chisel end to make it fit/attach). So, on a rough estimate - getting 3 chisels of varying width would cost me around Rs. 250, whereas this Stanley set was at Rs. 449 (i.e. roughly double the price).But I was not happy with the look & quality of the local store chisels & thought of giving this one a try - as I found it for a few bucks less on lightening deal.I started using the chisel today & here is what I found:* Good strong build* Ready to use off the packet* Cuts through woods/plastics - as if running a warm knife through butter (well, I may be exaggerating a bit, but after using my old chisel for long time, today's experience was really smooth)Summary:- If you are looking for chisel, look no further - get this!- I am taking away a star only for it's high price (I would have preferred a price tag of around Rs. 350/- max)- Otherwise - this is definitely a tool which will not let you down

These Chisel Set from Stanley came with a great package. Thanks to Amazon. Came with three different sizes as shown in product image. One is 1/2 inch, one is 3/4th inch and the third one is 1 inch. Of course the material is great in quality. I bought these chisel set for some DIY works in my home and these are handy to have with anyone for their DIY Stuffs.Though I liked the built and quality of the metal used in these chisel, I have two CONS that's why I have given it 3 Stars:CONS-1:I didn't like the Handles provided with these chisels. They are made of hard plastic, that's good of course but the handles are not round type and as theese handles are flat type, hammering on these flat handles are not so user friendly at all, at least for me, I prefer Round Type Handles. As these handles are flat type, during hammering, hammer tends to slip and that too on your holding hand. That's a mess of course.CONS-2:These chisels don't come in sharpened condition. You need to make them sharp first before going to use them for the first time.Though after sharpening these chisels, you will get to experience the great performances from these chisel but still, Stanley must look into the handle design, Make the handles as Round one.I hope my review will help you understanding the features, pros and cons of these chisels. Pros-1.Good handle design. The "scoop" on the handle is great for the thump when trimming, as far as I know Stanley is the only company with this design.2. Sharpness stays longer with treated metal3. It comes already sharpenedCONS1. The back of the chisel isn't completely flat but can be fixed manually2. The ready made sharpened edge is not 90 degree also needs adjustmentOverall after sharpening it square and flattening the back it's awesome!

Sharpness is good & very good for home use

This is an economical chisel set for an occasional DIY woodworking enthusiast like me. Stanley is still a reasonably good brand. So, I consider it as a safe choice.Only time can tell if it proves to be a durable product or not.

was expecting better quality from the brand... but seem like toys 😂 .. local hardware shop chisel are better
