LOCTITE 55 pipe thread sealant - thread sealing tape for fast, reliable seals

This thread sealing cord from LOCTITE is the right choice for fast, reliable seals for pipe threads and fittings. It is suitable for securing and sealing threads made of metal and plastic. No waiting time is required for drying, as the thread develops an immediate sealing effect against full pressure. After tightening, the threaded connections can be readjusted. With DVGW/KTW approval for gas and drinking water*, the thread sealant is suitable for drinking water and other water pipes. In addition, the pipe seal is suitable for applications with high temperature exposure (up to 130°C). Application is quick and easy because the cutter is directly integrated.

To use, clean parts with a wire brush. Place the end of the thread approx. two threads away from the end of the external thread and hold it with a finger. Wind the thread onto the pipe thread, starting at the pipe end and following the direction of the thread. For optimum function, the thread base should be filled, although direct placement in the thread turns is not necessary. Do not wind up too much thread as excess material is often forced out during fitting of the connections and complicates the fitting process. Cut the required length using the integrated cutting tool and place the loose end against the flanks of the pipe thread. The threaded connection can be readjusted up to 45° after tightening.
